so i went to l&D the other night for real bad contractions. i am 28 wks with mo/di boys. well any ways the nurse checked me and said she could feel the head with her finger. what does that mean? im going to the ob today because my feet and legs are extremely swollen. im so scared right now.

Eeek. It sounds like you are dilating? Did they put you on anything for contractions? I would drink a TON of water(both for the contractions and swelling) and put myself on strict bedrest(only getting up to use the bathroom), until you hear more from the OB.

I agree that it sounds like you are dilated! I agree you should definitely put yourself on strict bedrest, drink plenty of water, and make sure you are emtptying your bladder often. Has your Dr mentioned getting Steroid shots at all? Best of Luck!!

Sorry I don't know the answers to your questions but when I read this what really stuck out at me was how they aren't telling you what these indicators mean. No wonder you're worried (besides the obvious) they should be discussing these things with you and not leaving you to wonder! I have had to learn that we sometimes have to ask and advocate for ourselves although it's hard to do, especially with certain doctors or nurses who just take it all in stride.

I hope everything turns out well for you and your babes and I hope that they start explaining things to you too so that maybe you can only worry if there is need to worry instead of having to worry because they didn't do their job and explain things. I know my mind would be stirring up the worst and googling like crazy (which is often not a good idea I've learned LOL)! GOOD LUCK mama and keep us posted!!! I'm sure it will all work out just fine!
