Did anyone concieve before their cycle returned from giving childbirth?

Ive been breastfeeding for 13 months now. My period hadnt even come back but apparently Im pregnant! Just wondering if this happened to anyone else.
Ive been reading and most people have an anovulatory period as their first post partum cycle. 5% of women ovulate that first period and conceive!

I got pregnant with James when the twins were 10 months and I hadn't seen my cycle return. I just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant with #4 and my ds is 10 months, I had a period in January but hadn't had one since, and got pregnant in March. You are not alone :) Congratulations, by the way :)

I had a very strange period before I got pregnant with this one. I'm not sure I'd even call it a period, not exactly sure what it was but I did bleed a little at the end of Sept. and got pregnant in Oct. It was definitely not like my normal periods.

My sister got pregnant twice that way. Her first two kids are 13 months apart. The 2nd and 3rd ones are 11 months apart.

Congratulations!! I think most women ovulate once before their first period, but of course the chances of getting pregnant are still not likely but very possible(is it 25% in a perfect world)..

I do not know if I ovulated before my first period, but it didn't come back until the twins were 27 months! Since then I've been charting and I have had 1 or 2 annovulatory cycles .. not sure if it is because I'm still nursing or just getting old :)

That's how I got Ellie. I was pumping for Jo, though not nearly as much as I should have at that point, and must have gotten pregnant with Ellie in June. Jo was born in March. My sister was amazed that DH and I found time to "get together" with him on midnights, a 3 month old, aand a 2 1/2 year old. :)

    UPDATE!

    Hey all,

So I went for my ultrasound today at 2pm.

According to the gestational sac size I am 6 weeks 2 days pregnant. I also had a normal sized yolk sac. However, no embryo/heartbeat could be seen.
I started having some light bleeding before my appointment.
The ultrasound doctor said at 6w2d an embryo/heartbeat should be visible. He's suggesting that I come back for another scan no sooner than 1 week from today. He says its possible that the gestational sac is measuring ahead and that Im only 5 weeks or so in which case you wouldnt be able to see a embryo/hearbeat.
The other possibility is obviously that I may be having a failed pregnancy. Only time will tell I guess.

I hand delivered the report to my OB today so we'll see what she'd like done. More to come.
We're just in the waiting stage. If we are going to have a baby then we're happy about it. If we're not going to have a baby, we're ok with that too since this caught us completely off guard.
