so proud of my girls!

so my dad is flying today from BC to ON for his father's funeral & had a three hour layover in Calgary. all of us kids (and our kids) decided to meet him at the airport for lunch - i was a little bit nervous because i knew it was going to overlap with the girls afternoon nap (usually they go down at 12:00pm). they happily stayed up until 1:30pm! then they had a good sleep on the way home & are happily playing in the living room now. i was just really glad we were able to do it - even though it was expected, my dad's still having a tough time with losing his dad & i knew it would really help him to be able to spend some time with all of us.

 

Congralations on making it out with the babies past their nap time. I am sorry it had to be under difficult circumstances and I hope everyone in your family is dealing with the death as best as they can. I am certain it helped your dad out tremendously. Oddly enough, my parents do the same flight frequently from BC to ON with a stop in Calgary. I am hoping to be making that flight from ON to BC with my kiddies once I get clearance from my hematologist. Now that might be interesting.

thanks ladies for your kind thoughts. i wasn't very close to my grandpa - growing up on opposite sides of the country, i probably only saw him a half dozen times in my life. but i'm very sad for my dad because i know he's having a hard time, so it was nice to be able to spend time with him & offer some comfort. i'm also a little bit sad that i never did know my grandpa better.
