So much to do with little time

Hi! I am new to the forum and am excited to meet all of you. I went for my 20 week ultrasound on Feb 27th and found out that we are expecting twins. It was a huge surprise to us. We are very excited but I just feel like we have so much to do with little time left to do it.

I have been reading alot about twin pregnancies and they all talk about gaining about 25lbs by 24 weeks. That is really hard to do when you don't even find out you have twins until 20 weeks. I have gained 2 pounds so far and feel like I need to quickly gain more.

:wavey: and welcome to Twinstuff!! Congratulations on your twins! Great news!! I'm sorry that you feel like now you have more to do in a little time, but don't stress that at all, just take care of yourself. They only need love, diapers and formula. We look forward to getting to know you!!

Congratulations on your twin pregnancy! :good:
As for your weight gain, maybe mention your concerns to your OB at your next appt ~
Some mom's don't gain very much weight at all during the 1st trimester and gain the majority towards the end of the 2nd & 3rd.
Keep us posted on how you are doing!!

Hi! Congratulations on your twin pregnancy and Welcome to TS!!

I agree that you should mention the weight gain issue to your Dr at your next appointment. The thought of all the things you need to get done is daunting, but if you pace yourself and get a little done at a time you will be amazed how it will all come together in the end. Try not to stress too much, and take good care of yourself!

We look forward to getting to know you!

I knew at 7 weeks it was twins I weighed 130. I had only gained 7 pounds by 20 weeks. Now at 22 weeks 4 days I weigh 143. That's only 13 pounds. I drink at least 1-3 ensure plus protein shakes a day and eat healthy. The babies are growing great and the doctor has never said anything about my weight so I'm not too worried about it. You should ask your doctor if your worried though.

First of all, congratulations! I just found out at my 20-week ultrasound on 3/10 that I am having twin girls, which was a TOTAL SURPRISE. When I read your post, I thought I was reading my own post. I too feel overwhelmed with too much to get done with multiples on the horizon. Everybody just keeps telling me to take it one day at a time and it will all come together.

    Good luck!
