So much for healthy meals

I've come to the realization that my kids are going to grow up liking only processed convenience food.

They don't eat veggies except in pancakes and veggie burgers, but not homemade mind you (they have two bites of the veggie pancakes dh made and cry).
They don't eat meat except chicken nuggets. I've tried tasty tender chicken... no dice.
They don't eat fish except fish sticks, or if we're lucky homemade salmon pancake (pretty much flour, egg and canned salmon).
They don't like plain cheese or eggs.

They love chicken nuggets, sweet potatoes fries, fish sticks, veggie burgers, veggie pancakes, all that stuff of course from the frozen section. And toast. But they really can't have toast twice a day, can they?

They also eat fruit (thankfully) and crackers. i still give them fresh veggies once a day knowing it's going to end in the trash (ie, the dogs). I try to buy 'healthy' version of all the above (organic, natural etc), but they probably can't tell the difference anyway.

    Am I doomed???

LOL No your not doomed and yep they can have toast more than 1x a day. Its probably just a phase. As long as they are gaining weight and thriving and happy, I wouldnt worry.

I just 'made' dinner and thought the same thing. My girls are having chicken and mozzarella ravioli (frozen from BJs) and jarred sauce. I'll give them some green beans and grapes too, but really is this a 'home made' meal? I boiled water and I'll cut up grapes.

I guess just keep trying and see if they expand their gastronomic horizons.

Sometimes I think the same thing, but mine are healthy and thriving and it seems like yours are as well. It's wonderful that you have all of the organic versions of these foods for them! Will they eat baby food veggies? Mine are just finishing up on those right now. They were not big on fresh veggies, so I knew they were at least getting some.

No they refuse to be spoon fed now. Even yogurt is pretty much a battle nowadays.

Mine are the exact same way. And sometimes I try to let them spoonfeed themselves, but to be honest I really don't want to sit with them for 2 hours while they play with spoons. Tonight for dinner mine had grilled cheese, peas, and teddy grahams.

We can guide them with spoons, so they'll eat that way. We load the spoon, hand it to them and they'll eat. We can even guide their hands. If not, I'm sure it's just a phase. No worries .

To get my two to eat yogurt or anything with a spoon, I sit in the recliner with one spoon and make them come up to me to eat like a baby bird.

I've made grilled cheese for lunch every day for the last week, if not longer. Now that I'm worrying about my son's weight gain, it's the one (and pretty much only) thing he'll eat. I feel like I'm enabling him, but I'm too worried for him not to eat so I keep doing it.

Sometimes I sneak in some turkey or grilled chicken in the sandwich and they don't seem to notice. I tried sneaking in some eggs, and that didn't go over too well. The only way I've gotten mine to eat eggs is on french toast - and even then I have to spread fruit on my son's or he won't touch it.

We started out good and healthy, but since this picky phase started, I've pretty much been giving whatever it takes to get them to eat. We go to the pediatrician on Wednesday, so I plan to have a big discussion on this.
