So excited!

    YAY!! I just got word that our school district is going to continue to offer the Young 5's Kindergarten (or Jr. K) for kids with early birthdays. My kids turn 5 this Sept. and are on the smaller side. I think Abby would probably do ok in K, but Gabe needs a little more development in terms of maturity and actually wanting to do much "academic" stuff. I've wanted to have them attend Jr. K, but our district has been hit really hard. It was an awesome district when we moved here 5 yrs. ago but there have been so many cuts. Our elementary school is actually closing and my 1st grader is being sent to a new school next year. So, they'll go to Jr. K 5 half days next year and then go to K the following year. Sorry, just had to share my excitement that things fell into place the way I'd hoped!

    Yeah! Our district also has district-wide pre-K (half day 5 days a week), and its one of the reasons why I love our town so much.

    :Clap: I am glad!!! They will love it!

    I hope our area keeps their young 5s too!! I also hope we get to keep 1/2 day K option....

    Some of our elem. schools here have Pre-K, but in our county it is based on need, so not just anyone gets in. :(
