I was so excited to be done with working because I was so tired all day at work. But now that I'm at home alone all day (the twins will be my first babies) I am so bored!!! I'm not on any restricted activity but I get tired very easily, so I've been trying to organize a little of the nursery and clean a little bit every day. But that still leaves me with hours upon hours with nothing to do. Anyone else in this same boat and if so, what do you do to help pass the time? (besides twinstuff I mean)

well i do have other kiddos..3 in school but 2 at home, so I stay busy that way. Plus I still have all the laundry, cleaning, dishes, etc to do during the day...

I would get some good books, movies, and things that youve wanted to see or read for a while...You wont have much time to yourself so you should be enjoying it now..lol

maybe get together with some friends and do lunch a couple times a week.

I have been home since 24 weeks (about 10-11 weeks now). I am a teacher and school ended just when my drs wanted me to rest! So I have done a TON of reading, watched a LOT of TV-I am addicted to ABC soaps at this point, I organized all the babies stuff too and now I feel like you do-BORED! I am on restricted activty at this point so I can't go out to the stores and I am so uncomfortable and tired anyway, I wouldn't make it.
Have you thought about a hobby-I just saw on TS that they have a forum on scrapbooking, cooking etc. One of my girlfriends made me a beautiful scrapbook for the 1st year with the twins. It might give you something to do and something different to focus on. I wish I could be of more help, but I know exactly how you feel! I am ready for the babies!
Good luck and hang in there! Everyone keeps saying enjoy the boredom and quiet b/c pretty soon we won't have any!

what about books or movies from the library...they are free!! I taught myself how to crochet when I was bored during my first pg...I also did some cross-stitching... hmmm....TS.... computer games.... start putting together their baby books/scrapbooks... I organized my u/s pictures and all that pre-baby information that you can fill out in their books prior to birth. Enjoy the quiet time now.... in another few months you'll look back with fond memories on the freedom to take a nap whenever you want!!

I'm bored too and watching TV and surfing the internet is getting OLD! I do have some twin/baby books I need to read up on before they arrive and I also bought a cross stitch picture for the babies room but that gets boring too.

I read a lot of books and watched a lot of movies (including all 3 Lord of the Rings DVDs, plus behind-the-scenes extras). I was on activity restrictions although not strict bedrest. People kept suggesting things like knitting, scrapbooking, writing letters, etc., but I found all that too hard to do while reclining or side-lying. I didn't even find TS until after my babies were born, though I did surf the internet a lot in general. Fortunately I like to read.

My DH told his coworkers I was on bedrest, and lots of them brought in DVDs for me to watch -- that helped.

I watch a fair amount of tv when i am uncomfortable or tired, but mainly i have been doing ALOT of sewing! I am almost finished making both crib ensembles....should have them finished in the next couple of days. I am now on very restricted activity so it takes me longer.

I also talk on the phone alot and have done some reading:)

I have gotten into a very regular routine. I get up at 5am. Eat some Cheerios, make DH's lunch. And watch the news. I get DS and DH up around 8am, breakfast, clothing, out the door by 9am. Morning television including Regis and Kelly, Ellen and sometimes the view. Afternoon nap (which has gotten longer and longer) and I'm waking up when DH gets home from work at around 5:30 pm and then dinner. Of course Internet time is thrown in there a lot and my newest vice- ONLINE SHOPPING! Since I can't get out to stores, I pretty much have everything for baby and us shipped to the house. (If I could have groceries shipped or delivered, I'd be happy! LOL)

I'm trying to enjoy the time before craziness begins in 6 weeks. (Gosh I hope I go that long) and I will have no time for myself~!

Hahahaha.... that's funny - because I keep thinking "These babies are going to be born SOONER THAN I'M READY FOR!" LOL! I can't seem to have enough time in a day! If I had some free time, I'd make a list of the things I enjoy doing (even small things - getting flowers from the market, taking a long bath, getting a massage, prenatal yoga...) and do that when I start to feel bored. My 1 1/2 year old keeps me ON MY TOES ALL DAY, though! :)

I learned how to play SUDOKU. I would take my little game magazine with me to every OB appt and my OB would say that by the time the babies come I will be doing the "hard" puzzles and he was right. I would always start a puzzle and look up and at least an hour would have gone by. Enjoy the rest and store up some energy.

    Hi,

My situation is similar to yours. I do all of our shopping during the week, schedule my dr. appts. during the week, get a monthly pass to a yoga studio to take an hour gentle/basic/prenatal type of class during the week. A big thing, I found a playgroup through church and attend that, (1-1/2 hours a week) along with hanging out with some of those stay at home moms during the day sometimes - like assist someone's garage sale. I've been making a daily schedule for myself so I'm productive. It is not glamorous or fun being home without kids IMO. For me, I stopped working because I had a very demanding job. I was afraid the stress and activity would land me on bedrest. Being home since mid June, unrestricted, I've had a good pg. Most people are very surprised how well I'm doing. So, when you're feeling bored, etc. remember your doing a great thing for your babies :). I have been hoping to go at least 37 weeks. So, really, you and I are in the home stretch right now.

I am a scrapbooker turned card maker. I use my scrapbooking supplies to make mass amounts of cards. In the past two months, I've finished two years of Christmas cards (100 each year), 50 baby announcements, 100 baby shower invites, tons of thank you cards and four baby brag books (without pics) for the grandparents. When you come up with one card idea and mass produce it, it's really easy to do on the couch watching tv. I feel like I'm being productive without putting a strain on my body. Plus people are really impressed when you give them hand made stuff and you're HUGE! :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to add volunteering. My multiples group has an event planning committee. I used to plan events and do fundraising for a living so it's right up my ally. I can get as involved in as I like. Everyone loves volunteers ;).

If you enjoy cooking you could make up some dinners and freeze them for after the babies come home. (you will be glad to have them)
Good Luck, Once they are home the time goes by way too fast :(
