So achy and hard to sleep ALREADY!

Last night I had nightmares about being in pain from the babies moving in my belly - and I think what was really going on was ligament pain that I was really, actually feeling. If I sleep on my side - almost perfectly straight - my tummy already feels like it needs support. I am ASSUMING it is from the fact that my ligaments are under stress? I don't know. I have to sleep on my side, turned in a little so that the bed supports my tummy (I guess I already need a wedge).

It is just hard to imagine at least another 26 weeks of this - only getting worse. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to be pregnant - but I am in fear of how bad it is going to get since I am already so sore! I have really big underwear I've been wearing and I can't stand the feel of the band on my belly - it isn't tight - I just can't stand the feel of it.

Sorry, I just so whiny! My DH hears me complain every day about how sick I feel and he gives me no sympathy. I guess I am just trying a new audience to whine to :)

Sounds like your ligaments stretching to me. Over the weekend I stretched out in bed and REGRETTED it. It definiteluy pulled in places that were not comfortable. I sleep on my side with a body pillow tucked under my head and knees. It helps support hte belly too.

You are not whining to us...we've all been there and done that or are going through it now...we can definitely sympathize at the least with you!

I agree does sound like ligament stretching. I say get some big fluffy pillows, blankets, whatever. I seem to always have something soft pushed under my belly when laying down. I heard body pillows are great. I personally have a wicked soft blanket I like to use. Have a wedge, found it way to hard.

Sounds like round ligament pain to me too. I get it really bad when I try to roll (flop) over.
I found some bikini maternity panties at Walmart. They are like regular ones - but no band at all. They feel much better on my tummy.
And - reading everyone else's whining makes me feel much better about my own, don't worry about it!

Thanks Ladies. I do have a body pillow - actually got a new one for Christmas, too. Maybe I will make myself a blanket. I started learning how to knit.... so maybe I can buy some stuff tomorrow and make something soft and comfy!

WHine away! I was also surprised at how soon I started feeling symptoms, since I had almost no symptoms with DD1.

i just turned 12 weeks and it's been really painful. i agree, it's ligaments stretching. i've actually been ok the past few days so maybe you will get some relief soon. get a body pillow. target and Bed bath have them for about $10 (and then you have a to get a cover so it comes out closer to 20). they are really comfortable. i don't know why i didn't get one with my other pregnancies. hang in there! these aches will hopefully go away.

I know that the hormone, relaxin, starts to relax your muscles and joints early on in pregnancy, before there's even necessarily a lot of weight. I had a lot of aches and pains early on too. Luckily, they came and went for me. Hip pain comes and goes, back and shoulder pain too. Pillows sometimes help and sometimes it's just a rough night :( My DH doesn't get it either, I think he thinks I'm being a drama queen sometimes when really he has no ability to understand how hard it is. Now that I'm bigger that helps a little on the sympathy scale!

yeah, I get NO sympathy from DH. In fact, every single night he pouts because he isn't "getting any" while I KNOW he can hear me throwing up in the bathroom!

My best friend is great for giving sympathy. She and I talk every day and she always asks how I feel and then tells me how sorry she is that I am so sick. It's great! But my mom, DH and anyone else IRL don't give a flip!
