It's been snowing here all day and I've been extra crampy today..some BH but mostly just sore and crampy (31 weeks with twins).....does anyone else feel like the weather impacts how you feel? I've heard something about changes in barometric pressure and labor....didn't know if it was true?

I am 37 wks pg with b/g twins and I have been telling my husband to beware of barometric pressure changes b/c the night my water broke with our ds the weather changed dramatically and I went into labor. I have always attributed it to the pressure change but who really knows. I haven't done any formal research on the subject. :p Good luck and I hope you keep those babies in a little longer!!

I always thought this was a myth but during my nearly 6 week hospital stay I learned it is true. The last 3 weeks I was in the hospital we had a cold front move in on each Sunday night. Each Sunday night with a weather change I got frequent contractions and the hospital filled up and had to go on divert to a bigger hospital. Apparently there is something to it!

Hmmm the first real snow storm we had hear in New Jersey was the Friday before Christmas. I was at work and all the sudden I started to feel really achy and crampy. I was really uncomfortable. Between that and the weather they sent me home early. I felt uncomfortable most of the night, even after a nice nap and lots of water. I wonder if there is something to that.

    hi ladies...
i was just told yesterday that the barometric pressure drop associated with snow storms does in fact make us feel worse. My MFM doc also told me that if there is a huge snowstorm closer to my due date, I should just come to the hospital and camp out there on L & D for the evening/night...instead of having to risk driving in the snow if something happens. Not a bad idea if it snows badly again! I keep asking myself why I stay living in New England:) I've felt terrible in the past 2 storms we've had here over the last few weeks! Happy new year!
