Snow boots trick

Here we got our once every 13-14 years snowstorm. Both of my kids have hand me down boots and yesterday when I was putting DD's boots on her, they were tight. My DH suggested to put ziploc bags over her feet and that the boots would slide on easier, apparently his Mom used to do that when he and his sisters were little. It worked like a charm. Just thought I'd share for those of you who are dealing with snow and snow boots!

 

Wow, I remember doing that with my boots as a kid! But we put the bags over our socks to keep them dry.

I also bought used boots and one pair is really tight. I'll have to give it a try.

Ah...the memories. I'd almost forgotten about this. We did this as kids for several reasons. 1) A lot of us had the boots that pull over our shoes 2) to keep our feet dry. We used bread bags though.

 

LOL, I was gonna put plastic grocery sacks inside their regular shows and duct tape them around their calves (not touching their skin of course) since they don't have snow boots. Yeah, I know you are a redneck when you do that.

I remember putting corn starch or baby powder in our shoes to help them slide on when I was a kid. We used old bread sacks to keep our feet dry (just like Beth), but I'm gonna have to try that bag trick to help them go on.
