We are looking into what stroller to buy! There is only one double stroller that will fit two infant car seats by graco. And our other choice is the snap and go... I am so torn in what to use.... I like how the Snap and Go is only $99... (the other is $240!!) But i do not like how it cant be used after they are out of infant car seats...

How long did you use the snap n go???

    Thanks!!!

I have a Grago Duoglider which I got very gently used for $25!!!! The duoglider is heavier and takes up more spage in the car trunk but I think its worth it. I actually never used the stroller with the car seats I always take the babies out of their seats and put them in the stroller without them so the Snap-n-go wouldn't have really gotten much use for me anyway. But then again my babies were born in the winter so we didn't really go out anywhere we needed the stroller anyway.

Our twins are just 5 weeks old, but we've used the snap-n-go a lot already. We got it used on Ebay for $50, and also have a Graco Duoglider that we got also got on Ebay used, for $50. I plan to use that more when they are out of their infant seats. But as for now, its very convenient to just, "snap" and "go"! :)

    Good luck with your decision!

My girls have only been home from the hospital for three weeks and we've only been out to the doctor, but - i got a snap-n-go on craigslist for pretty cheap, and there are always lots of double strollers there as well; not sure where you live (probably says on your post but i'm a tired mama!)...ebay is a good place to check as well but make sure you take into account teh shipping costs.....I would also check your local parents of multiples group and see if they have a sale or maybe one of the members is ready to sell.

My personal feeling is there is nothing wrong with gently used big ticket items as long as all the safety features are functional. You can then turn around and sell it when you're read for something else - (i saw a thread yesterday about stroller addiction on this board; try and find it, it's hilarious)

I used my snap n go for about 5 months. I moved my girls to a converable car seat early because they were getting really heavy. I loved my snap n go, they only down fall is you have to buy another stroller when they grow out of the carriers.

I have a Graco Duoglider tandem stroller. It fit both infant seats and now can be used as a regular stroller. I use this stroller most often. It did cost $250, but it came with one of the infant seats and bases.

I also just bought a SBS jogging stroller for when we walk.

I had the same question before I had my twins. We ended up buying only a Duoglider because I didn't want to spend money on both. The twins are now 6 weeks and I'm so glad we didn't buy the Snap and Go. I recently saw one at a resale store and I could not believe how heavy it was for just being a stroller frame - very comparable to our Duoglider which I love! I have no problem getting it in and out of my SUV, it stears great and it opens and closes easily. It was also a smart move for us because we have a toddler and right now the twins can fit in the back seat together and my oldest can sit in the front. I definitely won't spend the money on the Snap and Go unless you can find a used one for a really good price. I would spend the money on a stroller you are going to use for 3 or 4 years instead.

I use the double snap n go, and I LOVE it! It stays in the back of the van so it is always there when I need it. I also found a duo glider at a garage sale for only $20. It needed a good cleaning, but other than that it is in perfect condition. I washed it up and took the babies for a spin around the block the other day when we had some warm weather... I loved it! But the snap n go is definately better, in my opinion, for regular use. Much easier to not take the kids in and out of their seats, the seats in the duo glider don't seem to go back enough so the babies look a little more comfortable in the snap n go, and the snap n go is surprisingly easy to manuever. Since you have enough time (we waited too long), I would suggest checking garage sales, ebay, craigs list, etc. But as far as I'm concerned... the $99 for the snap n go was well worth it!!!

My girls are 9 months old and we are just now trying to figure out what stroller to buy for long-term (the next 2-3 yrs). We've LOVED our snap-n-go and it's lasted us this long! I think we'll likely get another month or so out of it at least, too! It's a great stroller for almost the first year--if you aren't sure if you'll want a SBS or Front & back stroller, get a snap-n-go for now and decide later. We got ours at a twin sale for $35 and it's been very well used! I think I'll give it away for free when we are done b/c we got SO much use out of it that it can't be worth anything anymore!

The only thing I haven't liked about the snap-n-go is if I have all 3 kids out (we have a 3 yr old son too). I would love to put him in a stroller seat when he's getting antsy & put one of the girls in a sling/baby bjorn, but I can't do that b/c he's too big for the infant car seat (although we did it once & he thought it was hysterical pretending he was a baby!). I would definitely go with gently used though for now, whichever you decide and spnd the $$ later when you figure out what you'll really want. It's hard to know until the babes are here!

Good luck w/ the rest of your pregnancy!!!

We used the snap & go until about 6 months, when Sarah outgrew her infant carrier. We actually did not use it all that often, because for outdoor stroller walks we took the double (non-carseat-compatible) Maclaren, and then the Mountain Buggy, after we bought one. Still, I think the sng is invaluable for things like doctor's appts, the mall, etc. It is so easy to get the carriers in & out, and you don't have to wake a sleeping baby. Even though we only used ours probably a total of 10x over those 6 months, I am really glad we had it.

IMO, a stroller is a big decision and you should pick the one you're going to want from 6 months to preschool, rather than worrying about whether it fits infant carriers too.

The snap-n-go is great for most errandy type places you go in your car -- doctor, mall, etc., but it isn't a great neighborhood walking or off roading stroller. If you do a lot of driving to get to places which are relatively stroller friendly, I would say definitely get the snap-n-go. It is so difficult to get yourself out of the house with two babies, I think you need every convenience possible to help you and save your sanity. It is so much easier to buckle the babies in once before you leave the climate controlled comfort of your home and to move the car seats around than to unbuckle (and maybe wake) two babies and buckle them into the stroller and then repeat it in the other direction. Remember, whether you get a new or used one, you can always re-sell it later when you need to get your post-infant-carseat stroller.

Another good thing about the snap-n-go is that in the winter you can just transfer the babies already warm in their carseats directly into the snap-n-go and not have to expose them to the elements. I had the Bundle Me things on the carseats which meant I didn't have to do any snowsuit/coats on the girls to get them out of the house. That made getting out MUCH more manageable. (I realize you live in California, so this may not be a consideration for you.)

We've been able to use the snap-n-go for 10.5 months as our babies aren't very heavy. Unfortunately, you won't know in advance how big your kids might be and how long you might be able to use the infant seats.

    Good luck with your decision!

We use the snap and go the majority of the time but, we have slowly began using a Peg Aria side by side now that they are getting big enough to sit in it. We love the snap and go and probably will not phase it totally out until the boys out of the infant car seats in the next few months.

We bought the Graco Duoglider and used that for the first 9mo. It worked great, until.....
I found this awesome new stroller! It by Kolcraft called Countours Tandem.
I could write so many reveiws about it, and promote this thing for a living. :D
    Here's what it can do:
    • fits Most Carseats - Graco Snugride, Evenflo, etc.
    • face seats towards you
    • face seats forward
    • face seats back to back
    • face seats towards each other
    • one car seat and one stroller seat
    • 2 car seats (need second attachment)
    • just one seat on
    • both seats recline 3 post.
    • huge sunshades!
    • 5 pt. harnesses with reflective material
    • big basket
    • 2 cup holders for Mommy!
    • toddler handles on both sides for walkers
    • fold compact like the DuoGlider
    • a bit heavy, but we all need muscles
    • moves really smoothly
    • great over different terrain
Check it out at: Kolcraft Website
Not kidding you will love it. It looks really cool to. I have been so satisfied with it, and I didn't even test it out before I bought it because it had just come out.
Here are some pics of my babies in it:

We used the snap & go when my DS was born. He outgrew the infant carrier at 4 months but I continued to use the carrier in the snap & go until he was able to sit up in a regular stroller. He was in the convertible car seat but I kept the carrier and snap & go in the back of the car for several more months. I also used the carrier for grocery shopping since he couldn't sit up in the cart by himself.

We are now expecting twins and bought a used snap & go for $45. I assume these guys will fit in the carriers longer since they won't be 9 pounds a piece like DS was!!!!

BTW, weight is not the only thing to consider when moving out of the infant carrier. There is a max length too which I think is 26".
