My boys smile tons when they are at home, but when we go out it is not the same. I can barely get them to look at me let alone smile. I think they are distracted by all the things they see, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this??

I'm sure they are just distracted! I'd like to know how they pick and choose when to smile at people bc for the most part mine are very flirty and smiley with people and then randomly they will choose a person and pout at them!!! Stinkers!

Yes, mine have gotten better as they have gotten older but most of the time they both just bury their heads in the side of their stroller when someone says hello to them.

Mine usually like to look around oblivious to the world. When someone pays attention to them, my DD will hide behind her hands.

Oh thank you. I feel better already.. I think Mom's are trained to worry.

it might have to do with how accustomed they are to new people. our guys go to daycare so they have developed very social personalities. which isn't to say they smile at everyone. in fact they spend a lot of their time out serious but they smile easily if they know someone is being silly to them.

what i'm saying is, it's probably perfectly normal, especially if they're not used to being around lots of faces.
