    So, all this time everyone has asked whether the babies sleep through the night. Our answer is yes and they have for months now. Well, that is not totally true...our ds sleeps through- that is the truth. The kid is a rock, once he is down he is out for the count. Our dd she started waking (sort of, sleep crying) about a month and a half ago anywhere from 3 to 130 times throughout the night for the good ole binky re-insertion. I have considered CIO, but I figured it's not a big sacrifice for me and DH to rise from the dead a million times a night to stick that binky back in. Last night was my first night alone with them as DH is in Pittsburgh for work. I was anticipating a long and grueling night alone facing the binky monster. BUT... also starting last night dd flipped to her belly to sleep, she only cried out once and the cry was over once I reached her room. I can't believe it. I am so excited and actually feel well rested today!

    On to the second part of this post, about a month ago we had to fire our nanny. Long story involving what I believe to be late-night partying which consequently lead to being late for work at our house. Also, our cleaning lady told me she caught her sleeping a couple times and once while she was supposed to be feeding my poor ds, and the bottle was pouring out all over her shirt. (Cleaning Lady didn't reveal this until after she was fired) Anyway, on short notice we were able to get them in with a family friend who does in home care. This woman has two dogs. One is a 300 pound Mastiff and the other a Lab. The babies only go there 2 maybe 3 days a week. Every day they do go there dd comes home with puffy red eyes. So my question is, can a dog allergy be present at this age? They are 6 months. Thanks!

    I would think she could have allergies. I'm sorry to hear about your nanny :hug99: .

    Hmmm don’t know about allergies, but wanted to say sorry about the nanny… my oldest ds told me a few things about our first nanny as well after we let her go… like she let him play his X-box when it had been taken away… I hate finding out things after the fact… like what else did she do… or not do?

    But moving on…

    I think it sounds like allergies.

    I could be totally wrong but I didnt thing they developed allergies until a little older. I hope not for your sake, sounds like you found a good solution to your childcare issues. Sorry about your nanny-that is so frustrating, and to hear bad things from your cleaning lady after the fact....ugh!

    I am going to call the Ped later, but I didn't think allergies showed up until later as well.

    Yeah, don't you love all that after the fact info? I asked our cleaning lady why she hadn't mentioned it to me earlier, and she said it wasn't her place. I told her to consider anything about the kids her place and to tell me and I would not be offened.

    I think that most kids don't show signs of allergies (except for food allergies) until around age 4. But, in some cases, especially if it is a severe allergy, it can show up sooner.

    Actually babies can develope alleriges. I was reading an article and it said that the symptoms will increase and can cause sleeplessness, loss of appetite, inflammation of the eyes, ears, sinuses, throat, and bronchial tubes, and perhaps even a full-blown asthma attack. Not to be an alarmist but I would talk to your ped. Here is the article I was reading;
