My boys have really small heads according to the pedi. They rank in the 5th percentile. I am guessing this is karma coming back to me and dh for poking fun at our nephews big head! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else had some small headed babies. I think their head circumference is 16 and a half. If so, what has your pedi said about it if anything?

Yeah, my DS has a small head. My pediatrician was concerned that he wasn't growing enough (she said something about head growth usually being the last thing to go if the baby hasn't been getting enough nutrition).

So his is related to not growing enough overall. She didn't think it had caused any longterm problems, just that we should go ahead and really work in extra supplementing (I'm breastfeeding + formual supplements) and start on rice cereal mixed with formula.

Hmmm. Well, they are now starting to take some vitamens. I don't think they are behind in development. My babes are 18 + pounds, so they are big. I wonder though if they have not been getting enough.

Hey, if they're big and developing well, they probably just have small heads! :D

Looking at your ticker, they don't look that small. But this is coming from someone whose DS has a watermelon head :D my DD has a peanut head, but it fits her body.

hehe, all babies have a little abnormality to them. They'll proportion out well as time goes on :D

My dd has a head that has been in the 5th percentile. But her weight and height are in the 25th. She is just small. My Dr said as long is its growing there is no problem. :)

I have one with a big old noggin and one with a little peanut head. Doctor is not worried so I try not to be too.

Cody's head was always small. He was 5th% & the Dr wanted to watch it. At 7 months he fell off the chart. She was concerned, but his developement was fine so not overly concerned. He did get back up at his 9 month visit. His head was flat & once he was sitting up more it rounded out.
