Small, but sturdy stroller for travelling...

We have a few strollers already (I bought two of them at a used sale when I knew nothing, and they're not too good!) I love the double jogger that was given as a gift, but it's big, the front sticks out pretty far, and I would like to have something nice, sturdy, and small for places like a cruise ship or taking on the airplane, and other trips when the back of the van is full already  . We walk a lot on vacations too. What would you recommend? I heard the Mountain Buggy is good and fits through doorways, but of course it's really expensive. If I heard from others that we could use it until the girls no longer need a stoller, it's good for travelling, and very much worth the money, I would consider shelling out the money.

If you have any ideas, please pass them on! Thanks!

It's been so long since I've been on here. :( I realize that I miss reading all the posts....but it's so hard to find any free time! UGH!

When we travel we use two small Kolkraft umbrella strollers. They are the $20 ones at BRU. Since they are so small and lightweight, they are easy to push anywhere. They fold up skinny in the back of the car. They have good sunshades and a net for your stuff. The babies like to ride in them. You need two people to push, but on vacation you probably won't need to take the babies alone anywhere anyways. Walmart sells a small umbrella stroller too (I think for somewhere between $10-20) and the backs recline and there is a bigger basket underneath.

I also was going to suggest a light-weight umbrella stroller. They usually fold compact and are easy to maneuver. Just get one that has a good height for you and your DH. I had one that was short and we're both tall so it didn't work for us.

Try the Eddie Bauer Lightweight double. Its awesome, light and even has a built in handle to carry it when folded up. Folds up just like an umbrella.

I don't like to bring our jogger for travel bc its heavy. But I do love my jogger, its the InStep Mall Cruiser.

Meghan, I travel with my jogging stroller that has a swivel front wheel! I've gone on two trips (on one now) with my double jogger and wouldn't travel with anything else unless space restricted it. I LOVE IT!!!!

I don't know about how big a cruise ship would be, but you might be able to use a couple of umbrella strollers in that case and then just put them together with connectors if you leave the ship. They'll hold up for a little while I imagine (no storage - yikes) I love my Combi twin savvy too - for what that's worth! Good luck!

You can get a double umbrella stroller. We have one. Also you could get two single umbrella strollers and buy the attatchment to make it a double stroller.

I was going to suggest the Jeep double umbrella stroller
It's not super expensive, very light weight and it's been tested under above said conditions. I recieved it as a shower gift and have used it alot more than I thought I would. I also had a Duo Glider that I used when the girls were small but I switched over about 5 months ago. We've traveled with it. (I was so thankful it's fairly light when I had to put it through airport security!) I can put it in the back of my Nissan Versa and still have room for groceries!
It doesn't have a ton of storage space, but I found these stroller hooks at BRU and it makes it easier to use for me.
    Good luck on your quest!

I purchased 2 Chicco Capri strollers from BRU - they are a bit pricier (normally $60 a piece but between coupons and a sale I got them for $50 for both!) and I LOVE them...they are very lightweight, recline have a small basket underneath have a canopy and are VERY sturdy!
