Radley slept from 7:45pm until 9am. He usually sleeps 11.5 - 12 hrs and takes a 1 - 2 hr nap around 12:30 - 1pm. Do you think he still needs a nap? He won't be ready for it until 2 or 3pm. He usually falls sleep for the night around 7:45 - 8 pm. What you do think?

I would just see if he even wants to sleep at this point!!!
My twins have also done the same at times... and sometimes they get cranky and want to take a nap and sometimes they go full throttle and just play and play and play some more until bed time...

it never really messes them up ... but that's just how MY kids are!
    Every child is different.

I know this probably didn't help, but good luck anyways!!!

Yes, I would try to put him down at his usual time. You never know the extra sleep could be b/c he's getting sick and rest is the best thing for him then!

He was actually sick on Sat (throwing up), but seems fine now. Maybe he is still getting over it. He is really mellow this morning.... not like him.

My oldest slept 13 hours straight every night (6 to 7) between age 4 months and 2 yo (then she started to go down later). She napped twice a day until 18 months!

Try and if not, put him down early!

Evan and James are younger than your son, but they still nap even after a really long night. Sometimes James has a bad night so he sleeps in in the morning. His total time in bed might be 13 hours or so (but that's after a bad night so he isn't sleeping the whole time). Evan is a better sleeper and he'll sleep in right along with his brother, even though he hasn't been up in the night. I still put them down for their daytime sleep(s). I figure some days they need more sleep than others (I'm the same way actually, now that I think about it!).

Well I put him down at 1:15 and around 1:30 he was sleeping. So not too far off from normal. Must have needed it. Maybe he is growing.

    Hi Christy,

My guys have always been big sleepers, and have slept those long nites you mentioned for several years...I thought it was stopping, but they've done it twice this week (13+ hour nitesleep PLUS nap). Seems to be when they are really worn out, growing or sick, as mentioned above.

Happy, rested boy vibes coming your way!
