Do they need more food during the day, do I look to a sleep comnsultant. Has anyone used the 3 day sleep solution?? Please help. We are exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am by no means an expert, but I have heard alot (especially in this forum) about milestones. Sometimes they are just going through a "stage" and their extra energy comes out at night. I know it is hard, but I would say hold off for a few days before going to a consultant.

I haven't heard of 3 day sleep solution... what is it?

My friend has already warned me about the 9-month night wakenings and she said for whatever reason it's just part of this age and stage. I don't know if you have read Baby 411 but it is an excellent book and has all sorts of different ideas/methods for getting babies to sleep. The only 3-day sleep solution (don't know if this is what you're talking about) has to do with delaying your entry into the babies room each morning by 15 minutes so that by the 3rd day they are sleeping 45 minutes longer. Great for parents who'd like to get up at 6:00 instead of 5:15, but maybe wouldn't do anything for night wakers. It's based on the idea that your presence signals the start of the day to the baby. Hang in there, they may just have to outgrow it.

We had issues at 9 months too. I blamed it on the fact that Ryan was getting 4 teeth at once and Jake was getting 2. Not to mention they were beginning to army crawl toward the end of that 9 month time. Milestones play a big role in sleep patterns. Hang in there! I did CIO at 7 and 9 months.

We've been going through wicked teething with Jack for the last month. Before that, he and Nate had been sleeping through the night since they were about 4 months old. Now every other night Jack is waking anywhere between 2-5 times a night, and sometimes it takes an hour to get him back down!

Are any teeth coming it? If I get a good dose of Motrin in Jack at the beginning of the night (and he doesn't spit half of it out), he seems to sleep a lot better. Last night we didn't hear a peep out of him all night; I woke up this morning and had to check to see if he was still breathing! ;) 2 nights before he spat out most of the Motrin and we were up most of the night.

I'm sure this will pass in time, but I know that sleep regressions really suck!!! Good luck to you!

I don't know what the 3 day sleep solution is but I was going to say the same thing about maybe they are reaching a milestone or doing something new that is interrupting their sleep. I hope it doesn't last too long.

Could be teeth, could be a stage they are going through. I also heard that often when they are on the verge of some new "skill" (crawling, rolling over, walking, etc) that there will be sleep changes. Whatever the reason, my kids have all gone through these phases & while it's rough when they are going through it, it will pass. to you, hopefully they will sleep for you soon!

Hi lil sis! As other PPs have suggested it could be teething or simply reaching milestones. I went through something similar with my DS but with his day naps and it coincided with him learning to crawl and pulling up to standing and not being able to get back down (I left him to it and he figured it out). Have you left them to CIO or do you prefer not to do that?
