    Hi Ladies,

I am 19 weeks today with boy/girl twins. We went to BRU tonight to register...holy cow!! I thought I was somewhat prepared, but it was insane (these are our first children).

Anyway, I want the babies to sleep in our room when they come home, but I am not sure what to get?! My best friend suggested the pack n' play with the bassinet feature, but I don't think they could both fit in there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    Emily

I got a regular bassinet for my two. They did both fit in there but we chose to get two and put them seperately since we each had a baby {me and dh, at night} and they slept differently {one got up more, the other was a lighter sleeper, etc.} I have heard many use that double pack n' play for their twins, so hopefully they can come by and give you advice on it. :good:

Good luck. Registering is hard, but be sure to make it fun too.

We used the bassinet part of a pack n play. They both fit well - I think it had a weight limit of 15 lbs total. We were picky about finding one that stayed firm and level though. There are some that look like the babies would roll towards each other in the center.

That being said, they spent 10 minutes sleeping in it in our room. I kept jumping up at every little peep - very noisy sleepers! So my husband put them in their cribs and slept on the floor. They've been in their cribs ever since. We did use the pack n play in the living room in the first couple months though for sleeping during the day.

Oh, I just reread your post. There are some pack n plays where only half of the top is the bassinet and the other half is a changing station. The entire top part of ours was a bassinet, so it was easy to fit 2 babies. We had a changing station too, but it flipped on and off. It worked out really well.

We used a pack n play with a full sized bassinet on the top and both fit great until they were 3 months old. I know it says it has a 15lb weight limit, but it worked great for us. I would not go for a PnP with that tiny little half bassinet on top, it just isn't large enough for 2 after a few weeks. This is similar to the model we bought (but we bought ours almost 3 yrs ago) http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2957926 , I really liked ours. Like I said we didn't move our to their cribs until they were 3 months old and it worked great. I really liked the vibration feature on this PnP, it helped when they were fighting sleep a bit!

Try not to get overwhelmed because you don't need everything, I swear! All they need is to eat, sleep and be loved in the begining anyway. I know you'lll get lots of great advice here. My best advice is don't freak out, it will be fine!

Are you planning on nursing? If so, then I think the full sized arms reach co-sleeper is a good option. The full sized can hold up to 30lbs as a co-sleeper and since it connects to your bed all you have to do is roll over and grab a baby. I am getting one this time around. I wanted one when I had my second child, but I couldn't justify the money when I had a perfectly good bassinet.

I'm going to use a regular pack n play with the full size bassinet. I've read that the twin one is really hard to put together and most doctors recommend letting them sleep together as they have been for the past 9 months and do better that way. I've also heard that letting them sleep together gives them a better bond in the future than to separate them.

I used the bassinet feature on the PNP for months and it worked great!

We did have the PNP with the full bassinet, which they used for naps. However, for night-time we put one of the cribs in our room and they both slept in there. It seemed so much more comfortable.

I used one regular sized crib, which they stayed in until they were 6 months old.
