I am thinking of investing in these. Right now we have a humidifier and a cd going but I think it might help them get to sleep faster to kick things up a notch. Any suggestions? Thanks.

From the get go all we have used is the Humidifier, seems to do the trick for us.

My girls have fallen asleep on their own with the FP aquarium from the PP. They love it, and sometimes, if I am lucky, they will play quietly with it when they wake up in the morning.

I have a white noise machine that is on all night, and when I first put them in there, I turn on this little star thing, by Tomy, that shines pictures on the ceiling. Of course, right now, it's too light for them to see it when they go to bed, but it plays music for 10 minutes also.

We have a white noise machine that I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond. My twins could take it or leave it but I can hear it on the monitor and I personally LOVE it! I think when my girls are done with it I'll put it in my bedroom. We also have the best, cutest little mobiles on the planet that I got at BRU -- they have a glowing globe-shaped bubble area that looks like a meadow/pond scene and has glitter swirling around. Very girly and my older girls (5 & 7) love it so we bought it. My twins will lay there and watch the light patterns the mobile makes on the ceiling and before you know it, poof, they're out. Plays cute music, wind chimes and birds tweeting. This stuff would never have worked with my other two dd's, so I suppose it's hit or miss. Good luck to you!

I want that twilight turtle for me! So cool. We either run the humidifier or the fan most of the time. We also have the light projector that PP mentioned...it flashes clouds and bees and smiley faces. Works wonders when someone wakes in the middle of the night and just needs something to distract them for a few minutes til they fall back asleep. Saves me from having to keep going back. Usually I'll hear them laughing at it then silence because they go back to sleep. :) Think it was $20 at BRU...I got it on the clearance table for $10!

We went with the white noise machine from Brookstone. I originally got the one marketed for the baby but I didnt like the sound choices. So I bought the more expensive one for "adults" that has rain, white noise, thunderstoms, etc.. I/they love it. I originally had it in our room when the boys were rooming in and I felt like I was sleeping with 2 Grandpas. It made all the difference in the world.

I know a lot of people who swear by the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium. Apparently it is really soothing.

They both have one of those (which I will hear at 3 am sometimes when they kick it :) ) But, the thing that REALLY works is the white noise cd!!! It is a dream come true for me...and, I guess, them as well!! Mine is from http://www.purewhitenoise.com/ I have the baby's first white noise cd in a pink cover. It is great - I also some of the lullaby cd's, which are great.

We have a fan called the "Vornado". My husband needs the "white noise" it makes so he can sleep! :D We actually have two and plan on keeping the second one in the boys room so they can't hear the noise from the cars passing at the entry of our neighborhood. We also asked for the FP ocean wonders and a rain forest crib soothers. We figured at least one of them will work!

I turn on their crib music boxes when the twins go to bed. They play music, shines imagines on the ceiling, etc. for 5-10 minutes. I also run a white noise machine (Marpac 980) all night in their rooms. It was $50, but it's the best one I've found so far since it plugs in and can play all night. We actually have 3 of them, two in the twins' room and one in older DD's room so she doesn't wake the twins up and the twins don't wake her. I would love one also, but worried I won't hear the kids.

I have the twilight turtle which we still love (and the girls love) but because it's still light out when they go to bed we haven't been able to use it so much. We had also bought the lavender filled dog which smells fantastic and is suppose to help them sleep better. Not sure it really helped too much but I would rub the dog all over where I put their head so they could breath in that beautiful scent while they slept.

We have the twilight turtle (best 40 bucks we spent!) and we have a sound machine (b r'us) that I love as it has so many different options to listen to. They don't really 'see' the stars on the ceiling yet but if one wakes (usually my DD) I will stand holding her and rock back and forth while using the football hold, so that she can stare at the turtle; works like a charm, every time, within a matter of minutes, and then back to bed! We had a fan too while the temp was warm but that is not a consistent thing.

We use a white noise machine and play "rain".. it has worked well since we started using it when the boys were about 4 months. Before that, we played a classical CD for them as they fell asleep. We introduced the white noise machine because they started waking each other up with their little grunts and coos.. it makes those noises less obvious, and they do seem to sleep better with it on.

I really like our homedics noise machine. We had a BRU one and it was not even close to being as loud as the homedics. Here it is.

Along with that we have been playing the same lullaby cd since they were born. If they wake in the middle of the night and are crying hard, I go in and push play again.
