Since they turned the big one, I've noticed that they are napping twice a day but for 2 hours long(if not longer) each nap. Bedtime is still the same time and they sleep great all night. I'm really not complaining but I'm wondering if I should be concerned. They are fussier than normal when they are awake. Very attached to me and seemed to be teething. Is it a growing spurt? Just thought I'd ask to see if anyone else noticed their kids doing this about this time.

Mine went through that too. Enjoy it while it lasts. :D ;) I think it is a growth spurt combined with more teething...that's what I blamed it on. My ds still likes to sleep alot, dd not so much.

Jennifer, I used to get 2 naps of about 2 hrs. each still at 1 yr. I think they are probably teething and possibly growing, so if it's not affecting their nighttime routine, let it happen!! That's awesome!! I miss 2 naps sometimes!!!

I was just talking to another twin mom about this last night. My two ALWAYS take two long naps (1.5 to 2 hours each) on the days when they are with us (weekends, holidays), but at school they only take 1 two hour nap. Go figure. We also sleep all night long. Morgan actually slept 13 hours last night. I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts. :D

2 hours is considered long????? I've always thought that was normal. Anyway, I think everything is just fine. I'm another jealous mommy. :p I'm actually going to have to start rousing my boys earlier from their one afternoon nap which pains me. I have NEVER woken them before. However, it's taken Matthew 1.5 hours to fall asleep at night and I think the nap may be the culprit. THey've been going up to 3-3.5 hours at naps recently.

They are just fine. When mine took 2 naps, they were each 2 hours long. When they went to one nap it was 3-4 hours long.

When mine were still taking 2 naps (until 17 months) they would nap for 2 hours at each nap. I loved it!
