My g/g twins are 3 weeks old tomorrow, since they were 4 days old they've been on a 3 hour schedule and followed it very well. They wake up at about 2hours and 45minutes every single time- it's been great. However, the passed couple of days I've noticed after they eat they aren't falling asleep like they used to. Sometimes they will stay awake for a couple of hours and then by the time they fall asleep they have to wake up to feed. I don't know what to do with them when they don't want to sleep, and I don't know if it's normal for them to be sleeping less at 3 weeks. I fed them an hour and a half ago and one of them is still awake and she just started crying and now she's on my chest, and stopped crying. I'm so confused about these little ladies! Any advice?

    TIA!

At that age I would say being up for 2 hours is too long. Can you get them to sleep by rocking them or putting them into the swing?

I think being up for 2 hours is too long too. Do you swaddle? Maybe swaddling and putting them down to sleep after no more than an hour will help them sleep more.

Yes we swaddle. We also pull their hands down and swaddle them with the blanket so they cant keep themselves up longer by playing with their hands- they started doing this so we decided to pull their hands down by their bellies. Rocking sometimes helps, but not often. The one thing that really seems to make them go to sleep is laying on my chest or my husbands. But, we obviously cant sit around all day with babies on our chest. We go out often and for example today I was at the doctors and one of the babies was up the entire time..didnt go to sleep until about an hour before she needed to eat. Im just confused on what to do.

Little babies don't always follow a schedule, no matter how well you stick to it! Hang in there, you'll figure them out. One trick that goes along with swaddling is to put them in the infant carrier/carseat tightly swaddled.

After they fall asleep on you can you put them into a swing or crib? Have you tried a paci yet? The Nuby ones worked well for my boys. HTH!

First off Congrats on your new babies!!!

2 hours does seem way too long for them to be awake for... I would try a swing, bouncy or even the carseat.
Good luck! I have a 4 week old and for the life of me can't get him on the 3 hour schedule so :bow2: :D
