    Hi,
I've been sleeping on my side, not sure if it's a little early for this but I no longer feel comfortable sleeping on my back like I used to. The problem is, my shoulder, neck, and ear and back are so sore when I flip (or get up to go to the bathroom) every 1-2 hours. I'm wondering if i need a thicker head pillow or if a body pillow would support me? Thank you!!

I use the snoogle body pillow available at babies r us. I really love it, but I hate to tell you... the difficulty sleeping does continue although I can't imagine sleeping at all without the pillow!

I used two body pillows when I slept on my side. One for the front to hug and go between my knees and one for the back. It helped so much. I was a little sore in my shoulders from sleeping on my side, but the pillows helped out a lot. I still use a body pillow in front to sleep with.

I love mine. I have the U shaped one from Leachco (ordered on amazon.com). It takes practice and trial and error to sleep during a twin pregnancy. Good luck!

I got the Snoogle too, and though I like it, it's too big for our bed! I toss and turn a lot, so having to drag that giant from side to side everytime I rolled over was so awkward. So I've basically stopped using it and now just hug a regular pillow. It definitely helps keep me more comfortable and from flipping onto my belly. But I definitely do miss sleeping on my belly!

I have a body pillow that I manuver all different ways to help. I mostly use it to support my legs to keep my hips from aching. I am considering buying the Snoogle since I've heard so many great things about it, but I'm waiting to see if I can continue to get along without it since I know it will drive my husband crazy. My body pillow already drives him nuts and that's not nearly as big!

With the snoogle, it is a nice degree of softness?? I'm so used to down pillows and I noticed it's it's some type of poly fill.

I'd get much less sleep if I didn't have my body pillows- one that I hug and one behind my back. Good luck!

I use a body pillow made for pg sometimes. It does help. It curves to my body and elevates me from the bed - otherwise my belly can be out of contour with the rest of me.

The Snoogle is definitely not comparable to a down pillow. But I think it's supposed to be supportive, so it can't be too squooshy or else you'd just sink right into it. I think Boppy makes a smaller body pillow -- I wish I'd gotten something like that instead of the huge Snoogle!

I don't have a 'fancy' maternity pillow (as my OB refers to them) but I have a variety of pillows that I hug and cradle at night. My shoulders and ear still get sore every night--not sure how to ameliorate that discomfort. Historically I have always slept on my left side but now that sleeping on my back is forbidden there is nothing I want more than to sleep ALL night long on my back. Ugh.

i got the snoogle and returned it because of what someone else mentioned: its a pain to have to move it to your other side when you want to roll over. i now just use two regular pillows, one between legs and one under/around belly, and it works okay. i have basically given up on every being *really* comfortable again while pregnant!

I bought a long nautica pillow that is a cylinder shape - it's almost as tall as I am (4 1/2 feet long). I love it! I call it the noodle. DH is driven crazy by it, but has warmed up to it himself, lately! LOL I have to keep stealing it back!

I got a normal body pillow back when I was pregnant with my daughter back in 2005. I used it all through my pregnancy with my DS and pulled it out pretty much when I became 8-10 weeks along with this pregnancy. My husband sees it and knows I am definitely pregnant, I only use it during pregnancies.

It's great for adding enough support to my stomach and allows me to sort of still sleep on my stomach without putting any pressure on it. (I am a major stomach sleeper when not pregnant)

I was a stomach sleeper pre pregnancy, so sleeping on my side is really hard for me, and I've been having lots of sciatic nerve pain. I found that a regular body pillow helps some, and I still use my contoured memory foam pillow for my head.

Only problem with the body pillow, my husband keeps stealing it in the middle of the night!!! I'll wake up and it will be between HIS knees, and I'll just be clutching a little corner of it in my hands!!!

I've been using a queen size down comforter. I snuggle up with it. Hug part of it, have part of it under my belly, and more between my knees. It's kinda like a big down body pillow. It's soft and comfy, and I can use just a corner to keep me kinda covered, because I've been sleeping pretty warm. It's nice because I can mold and squish it where I need it to go. And it's light, so it rolls nicely with me. I don't know if it will continue to be enough once I get bigger, but for now, I can't sleep without it.

I have a regular body pillow and I love sleeping with it. I'm a tummy sleeper but have switched to the side a few weeks ago. I usually turn from right to left when I get up to go to the bathroom (about every 2 hours)

I hug it and put one leg over it. It helps alot but I would much rather sleep on my belly. I have quite awhile for that though!! lol

I too have the u-shaped pillow and loved it. My girls were born about 3 weeks ago and I'm having trouble letting go of this pillow. With my first I didn't have a special pillow, and found myself having to re-adjust all night long anytime i moved, but with this pillow I just roll over and fall right back to sleep no re adjusting. If you are going to slurge I highly recommend this pillow.

    I use this pillow. http://store.babycenter.com/product/matern...ow.do?asc=false
Could not sleep without it! I use it backwards though, the U part is between my feet and I use my normal pillow for my head. This pillow is big, we have a king size bed though so it works. I like that I don't have to keep moving it...it stays in place all night long. I can sleep on either side and also kind of on my back which is nice. I get soooo sore, sorry it does not get better, no matter how I sleep and am constantly trying to find a new position. Anyway....I love this pillow!

I had been having awful trouble lately trying to sleep. I would wake up and my hips would be numb (both - very weird) also my legs go numb - I get pins and needles and wake up every 2 hours. My Mum suggested that I sit up a bit while i sleep, so last night i used about 5 pillows to elevate my top half. This seems to take a bit of pressure off my hips and I actually found it much easier to move and swap sides. I will keep trying with this in the hopes I get some sleep. good luck to everyone else.
