Hi all! I have not posted in a while. I always know where to go when I am perplexed! :)

Well, the girls are 6 months old tomorrow. They are both sleeping through the night. They are taking 3 good naps a day. The are eating solids 3 times a day. They are progessing normal and they are healthy. I posted before that my girls are belly sleepers and now they both take a pacifier to sleep (and otherwise). My DD2 has gone to sleep like an angel and has for a long time. I cant say as much for my DD1.

Well, my DD1 has always had troubles winding down for bed. We have gotten better. Half the time she goes down without any crying.

So- here is what is happening now. Now that she is rolling over...I put her down for bed on her belly and she rolls right over to her back. She cries and cries on her back. I go up repeatedly without saying a word, replace her pacifier, roll her over, and walk back out of the room, and shut the door. On a bad night, I must go up 6 times. After that she will finally realize that I am not there for comfort or fun...and she takes her pacifier and decides to just go to sleep.

I know how insane it is that I go up and down the stairs some nights up to 6 times. I really don't know what to do.

Is it crazy to let her cry it out on her back, after she has been a belly sleeper for so long? I feel like the only thing I can do is to retrain her how to sleep on her back....let her cry it out a few times and see what happens.

    Any thoughts?

I would probably just let her cio on her back and see what happens. Also I would put her to sleep on her back too.

What time does she go to bed?
How long are her naps in the day?

I'm having the opposite problem -- My boys are back sleepers, and though they've been rolling from belly to back for some time, they just learned to roll from back to belly. They now do this in bed and forget that they know how to roll back over, and get really angry. I would prefer that they sleep on their backs, but if they roll over, I let them CIO. When they are sleeping, I go in and roll them back over.

Both my older girls were tummy sleepers. I would let them cry it out when they flipped eventually they learned how to flip back to their tummies. It's actually really weird for me for the boys to love sleeping on their backs.

Both girls go to be at 7:00ish...they wake up between 6:30-7:00. The first nap is 1-2 hrs (50/50). 2nd and 3rd is 1 hr.

I guess I will just have to do it. I kind of knew that...it makes the most sense. Still, I was holding out for her to realize she just needs to go to sleep.

    Thanks!

I guess my fear is that since they arent used to sleeping long periods on their backs...that she will continually wake up.

    Thanks!

Yes, about %50- %60 of the time.

Sometimes I can go up there, roll her over, replace her pacifier and have her just go to sleep. Other times it is a fight until the very end....with me running up and down the stairs 6 times.
