Sleeping...not in their crib

My girls suffer from reflux and often spit up if we lay them in their crib. Yes, we have it inclined and always wait at least a half hour before laying them down. The past couple nights I have left them in their vibrating seats all night to sleep (seats turned off) and they have slept well. (I slept more too because I didn't have to wait 30 minutes to lay them down.) I'm afraid we'll get them in the habit of NOT sleeping in their crib. Has anyone else let their babies sleep in places other than their crib? And, was it hard to get them to go back to their crib?

Mine had reflux and slept in their car seats, bouncey seats, and swings for the first 3 months. At 4 months we went cold turkey into the crib for naps on inclined sleep positioners and mattress and they transitioned nicely.

I'm almost embarrassed to say, but mine slept in their bouncy seats (that I put in their cribs) until they were 9 months old! I was too scared to move them out b/c they were sleeping so well. The transition wasn't really that bad at all - even at that age! And now they happily go down in their cribs for bedtime and naps.

    Do what works!

We did the same thing and didn't even have reflux! Ryan had a little bit the first month home, so that's how we got started with the bouncy/swing/car seat sleeping. We transitioned them to the pnp first (because we were visiting my mom for a month) and when we got home, they went right into their own cribs. They did great!

Yours are still very young and at that age i would let mine sleep where every they would sleep as long as it was safe. my DS slept in his swing almost every night for a few weeks but it was the only place he would sleep. He out grew it and so will yours :)

Same exact story here! No worries, get your sleep however you can!

Same with us, except mine until almost5 months, when we finally got DS on prevacid for his reflux. We had no problem transitioning to their cribs and now at almost 6 months, they are sleeping 10 hours in their cribs. . .However I still let them nap during the day pretty much wherever they want.

My Caleb slept in the swing ALOT for the first 4 mo, but in the last two weeks has just decided on his own that he no longer likes that and wants to sleep in his bed. Now he cries when I put him in it. Seriously, people kept telling me he'd just get over it at some point and I didn't believe them, but somehow it did just happen. Hopefully that gives you some hope. Enjoy sleep however you can get it, because it's sooooo precious and short most of the time!

We had major issues with formula, turned out they were lactose intolerant. For the first 6 weeks or so they slept in their carseat even though we had a port-a-crib set up. Then they slept in their bouncers with the music/vibration on for a good 6 weeks also. I put them into their own cribs in their own room just after 3 months but by then their issues were settled when we switched them to Alimentum.
