Sleeping, eating or crying ... I am sick of it?!

Well, at least they do sleep a decent amount of time, especially my girl is great at night (9-11 hours stretches), but I feel they're either sleeping, eating or crying. They can't enjoy themselves for 5 minutes without starting to fuss, well rested or not. It's so annoying and it makes me sad at the same time because I can't entertain 3 kids at the same time so in the end they're all crying and I get angry with my oldest, etc. I know it's a phase they have to go through and it will get better, but I can't remember this from my first ... but one is a lot easier to sooth. I guess I just picked her up a lot more. Between 5-7 they're just screaming and screaming while I try to prepare a meal for my toddler, get bottles ready, etc. Luckily dh comes home at 6 pm, but man ... I can't wait for this to be over. I am actually considering putting them to bed even earlier so that I don't have to deal with this, but dh won't be able to leave earlier and I don't want more night feedings (which might not necessarily be the case if I believe my doc, Weissbluth, but I am hesitant at this age; my oldest didn't go to bed at 6 pm until 4 months).

Anyway, tell me it will get better, and hopefully soon ... thanks, I needed to vent ...

[IMG] It's hard and you have to divide your time three ways! The older they get the better they will be at entertaining themselves. Is Sofie a help with the babies? I'm glad they are good sleepers! After putting the babies down, do you get some alone time with Sofie?

Well, our dd still cries quite a bit, although she is improving. She started getting a little better around 12 weeks of age. They will be 13 weeks tomorrow. I count my blessings that our ds doesn't cry like his sister, that would be far more stressful. I can't imagine needing to take care of a toddler as well! This phase with your little ones shall pass, hopefully a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel can be seen [IMG]

Sounds like we are in the same boat. I feel your pain! I do the juggle thing with my daughter and twin boys to. I have a 15 month old daughter and my twins are 2 months and 3 weeks. SO VERY VERY close in age. My boys do the same thing. Cry between 6pm and 8pm. But my daugher takes a bath, bedtime routine at 6:30pm and is in bed by 7pm. So there is not much I can do but let them cry untill 7pm when Sadie goes to bed. After that I'm all theirs to comfort them untill 8:00pm when they go to bed. It sucks, but it will get better, I promise. I'd like to put them to bed eariler to, but with them going to bed at 8pm they sleep untill 5am, wake up to eat and them sleep untill 8am. So I don't want to mess that up. How many times do your twins get up at night?

    Thanks ladies!

My oldest goes to bed at 7 pm, and as soon as she's down we feed the twins. So they basically cry from 5-7 pm, while dd is watching TV, eating her dinner, taking her bath. Even when my dh is here, they're hard to sooth at this time of day. I hope to get the twins' bedtime earlier soon, having them less overtired.

My son wakes up twice a night, usually, 7-12/1 and then 4-6. His sister sleeps 7 til 4-6, so she only wakes once and last Saturday she did 7 til 6.20 so that was perfect.

I can't imagine having them even closer in age. On the other hand, my dd still can't do a lot by herself (like putting pjs on, etc.) though she does undress herself for the most part, sits in the bath, picks books, etc.

That age is rough because they do tend to cry a lot! The good news is that their crying will peak shortly, then they will start entertaining themselves and the crying will lessen. Hang on, you can make it just a bit longer!

I put them in the swing and swaddle the other one and make sure they have pacifiers when the crying starts, it works around 90% of the time! I cant imagine how you ladies with another child along with your twins cope!

For dinner prep....pop them in the old bouncy seats on vibrate, stick in a Baby Einstein (Shakespear is our fave, oldie but goodie) and I bet your older one may watch it too. Saves dinner for us every nite!
