I am so sick and tired of being up at night. I know that not all kids sleep through the night at 10 weeks - believe me, I know that. But I would think that it isn't too much to ask at almost 18 months??? We had a couple of months in the summer when they were *usually* sleeping through, but then Kate started waking almost every night again. Now, at least one of them is awake at some point almost every night. And because they room share (no choice) it means that both DH and I have to be up. Last night it was Kate at 1am, then Max at 5:30 - and up for the day at 6:30am as usual. I am tired all the time, and tired of being tired. They are almost always tired and cranky because they are not getting enough sleep. It's isn't doing my marriage much good either, frankly.
I know that there is nothing we can do - I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

I totally understand and I wish I could find a answer also. I am so sorry for you. I am up at 3am with DD who has not went to sleep yet and DS has been asleep since 11pm he will be up in a few hrs. I to feel bad about being so cranky, but I only sleep very little. The twins r 3yrs old.

You're not alone. My ds has been waking again. He's normally up every 2 hours. Thankfully i change his diaper and he goes right back to sleep. Mine also share a room, so i have to hurry and get in there before he wakes his sister,if not i have 2 munchkins up. I sometimes give him a little milk or water, but i don't want that habit starting. Hang in there.

 What do you usually do with them when they wake up?

I hope things get better soon!

As long as they are not sick, hurt, cold/hot, I'd let them CIO.

I have the same problem. Most people think it's crazy that my almost 15 month olds don't STTN. They do here and there for a few days and I think that maybe they will FINALLY start STTN...but then it's over and they start getting up again!
I'v tried CIO over and over again. It will work for a little while but when I know they are cutting teeth or just sound like they are really upset I can't do it and give in. Plus one always wakes the other up when I do CIO and sometimes it's not worth it to me to have both of them screaming!
All I want is SLEEP!!! I know how you feel!
    Good luck & hugs

I'm right there with ya! Except mine was sleeping through the night and is no longer. I am BEAT! It's making me a grumpy momma. I went out this morning and spent $40 on a nightlight and toddler bedrail hoping that will help. Last night I was in his room sleeping on the floor because he was waking so often. Mine has been getting scared easily lately so when he wakes he cries. It's a tough age! Do yours have a nightlight? There are ones you can buy that screw into the socket so they cannot hurt themselves. That really helped my twins.

Thanks for the sympathy everyone. We are never really sure if there is a reason for the wakings - Kate wakes more often and she hasa lot of congestion/teething issues. We usually go in and give dummy and settle them and then try and leave. Sometimes Kate cries when we leave the room, but we have been leaving anyway and letting her fuss.
They finally slept through but because of the time change they were up at 5:45am.... not much better, frankly. I just long for sleep... more than money, more than food. Give me a genie and three wishes and I can tell you what they'd be!
