    Hi,

Just wondering how many of you have your twins on schedules- mine are still leading me and I think it's time to start coaxing them into something more predictable. I wonder how many of you have done that with success.

The girls are nearly 4 months now and just slept in their crib the whole night together last night. [not sttn but just sleeping in their crib] (have been in bouncy seats till now)

Also- we are having mega interference on our monitors- I still can't sleep in my own bed at night because the monitor just squeals like crazy in there and doesn't pick up the girls at all- have tried every socket possible! We also have a monitor for my son which works enough to hear him but it's a squeally one, too-- any tips for good monitors where I can hear both rooms w/o the annoying squeals & possibly have a chance to sleep in my own bed?

    thanks!:)

We have a Fisher Price Sounds and Lights Monitor that works fine. It's nothing fancy, but we hear everything we need to hear.

My girls have always been on a feeding schedule, but naps are still all over the place. I thought we were finally getting someplace yesterday when both girls took three simultaneous naps. No such luck today. One has been sleeping for an hour and the other hasn't slept at all. Sigh... I think it's going to be another long day with someone always awake. I feed every 3 hours during the day and they STTN now. When they weren't STTN and we finally got the ok from the Pedi not to wake them to feed, we would let them sleep as long as they could, but when one woke up to eat, we fed both.

You can try putting them both down when one gets tired and is ready for a nap and see how it goes. I would recommend trying more than once at different times throughout the day. We have and like the Graco iMonitor Digital.

The first thing our schedule started with was their morning nap. That became pretty predictable at about 4.5 months about 1.5-2 hours after they got up from the night. The afternoon was still all over the place until about 6 months when we went to 3 naps a day (2 longish and 1 catnap in the early evening). I fed them during the day about every 3 hours, but if someone was squawking for food, I fed them additional bottles. Good luck!

I just posted my schedule in the 4-5 month schedule question.

Our schedule really only fell into place properly last week. They are sometimes tough to keep awake until the set naptimes but I do my best not to vary it too much. They go down without a bother for all three naps but my son does have trouble staying asleep for the middle nap, which should end up being the longest one as he gets older - he wakes after 45-60 minutes. I keep him up though until the set time for the next one. I separated them for naptimes because of the middle nap - he kept waking my daughter and she needs more sleep it seems. I put her in a pack n play in our room during the day now. I never had a schedule for my older child but I needed one for these guys.

    Good luck!

yeah now's a good time to start putting them on a schedule, the hard part is following it everyday no matter how much they cry or fuss. Good luck

Our monitors seems to make that kind of noise when they are too close to a cell phone.

    Hey Lynn :)
Since i told you I was trying to get them on a regular schedule we've actually have had a lot of success. They were on a feeding schedule of every three hours, one after the other since birth but now we are getting their napping down. I put them to bed about 1 and a half to 2 hours after they wake up from the last nap. I just make sure that whatever they do they are doing it together even if that means waking one up. The boys seem to be thriving from it and I'm getting some breaks. Good luck (hugs)

We really didn't get into a real schedule until they were about 6 months adjusted. Night time wakings were all over the place (meaning that feeding times were all over the place) and morning wake-up times were still fluctuating alot. Once they started waking at the same time everyday, I found our schedule just fell into place.

My suggestion to get on a schedule. Start the day at the same time everyday....this may mean waking a baby or two until they get used to it. And then feed them at the same time each morning. Your schedule should start to fall into place after that. Although when my boys were 4 months, naps were still very unpredictable. So that mayh hinder the process.

    Good luck!

I picked this Sony baby monitor based on its reviews and the price was good. I haven't had any problems, it's been very clear. We actually bought two to have one on each floor and they haven't interfered with each other at all.

I have a Sony BabyCall monitor and it's great!

As for a schedule, my girls started falling into one around 3.5 months. Really, I just watched their patterns and discovered they could only be awake for 1 1/2 hours before needing sleep.

Our schedule started to fall into place around 3 months. For us, I started off with a very consistent bed time and bed time routine. From there the naps fell into place. I was also feeding every 3-ish hours during the day. They didn't STTN consistently until just over 6 months.
