My girls have gone to bed at 6pm since they were 3 months old. They usually sleep until 6am, until recently. They are now starting to get up at 530am and that is just to early for me. I've been considering switching there bed time to 7pm and hoping they sleep until 7am. If I do that, I would have to push there afternoon nap back until 2pm so they can stay up the extra hr. I went ahead and gave it a test run yestaerday, and everything went fine. Except this moring they still got up at 530am. Should I keep doing it and see if it just takes a couple days to get ajusted? WWYD or what have you done?

I might try shifting things in smaller increments . . . maybe shift bedtime by 15 minutes, to 6:15, and keep it there for a few nights, then move it to 6:30, and keep it there for a few nights, with equivalent shifts in naptimes. I think that would be an easier adjustment than moving by an hour . . .

This is what we try to do when getting ready for daylight savings time changes in the fall and the spring, and it's worked fairly well for us.

    Good luck,

    Rachel

I'm in the same boat you're in! Mine have always gone to bed at 6pm ( 7pm during daylight savings time) and NO MATTER what time I keep them up till they always wake up at 6am. Sometimes they will wake up earlier but I will let them chat or whatever until it is 6. In my experience keeping them up ( I tried it for 2 wks once ) did not change the time they woke up in the a.m. Good Luck and PLEASE pm me if you find something that works :)

I remember a little after they turned a year this happening, and did it a few times before then to. I pushed there bed time back like you and just dealt with them being cranky for a few days and that's all it took. Now they go to bed at 7pm and wake around 8 am, not sure exactly when they wake up as I usually sleep till they wake me up, and that's when they start crying. I know when I am awake or when husband is that they don't wake up until at least after 7am. They are 22m this week and as far as nap time they tell me when now and if they haven't told me by 1pm I put them down for two hours so I can get my stuff done or at least take a break, sometimes they don't sleep but I always leave sleepy music on in there room and they dance and sing and have down time and come back out refreshed. Our days are smooth going around here.
    Hope this helps
