    Hi there!

For the past couple of months dd keeps crying out in her sleep. She doesnt quite wake up, but she cries out & then we have to soothe her to sleep again, but after another hour or so she does the same.

We have made sure the twins clothes & bedding are all made of 100% cotton. But still sometimes when we pick her up after one of her crying outbursts she feels hot on the side that is pressing against the matress & her other side is kind of cool. She does turn around a lot during the night, so at times the blankets come off her which can be part of the problem.

We definitely check to see if she is hungry or has a wet diaper first.

During the day she naps for very short periods.

I have looked at the sleeping bags out there, but they're not 100% cotton. Also dd is kind of tall.

Have any of you experienced this with one of your twins? What did you do that worked for you?

    Thanks
    D

They do make 100% cotton sleep sacks - Halo makes some that are a cotton knit, like a t-shirt. Maybe those would be more comfortable?

How short are the daytime naps? How many naps does she take, and how long does she spend awake at a time? Being overtired can cause sleep problems.

You could always try some form of CIO. Sometimes my DD will cry out in her sleep, but if I wait before picking her up, she'll often go right back to sleep. It feels like forever, but I timed it, and it's like 1.5 min! Like your baby, she's not fully awake, just moving through lighter sleep.

Good luck, hope things get better soon!

Our twins still sleep with us. We can't move them to seperate bedrooms yet as my MIL stays with us. So when she cries out in her sleep we have to get to her before she wakes up her brother.

Regarding daytime naps, she has always taken short naps. A couple of minutes here & there. On good days (for me) she will sleep an hour in the mornings & half hour in the afternoons. I have tried putting her down at set times during the day but she gets hysterical..and won't sleep. I have never known that such a little baby can fight sleep as she does.

I must say I'm getting quite worried about her as she is developing dark circles under her eyes (they are slight but they are there).

I'll definitely be mentioning this to my pedi.

    Thanks for the advice.

Zoe did this ALL THE TIME! We just had new tubes put in her ears and her adenoid taken out and I think it has done wonders! She still wakes up every now and then, but not like she was! Is your daughter a loud breather? Does she snore? Zoe did both of these and now she is so much quieter!

No, Milena does not breathe loud nor does she snore.

    It's a mystery :)

My girls did this due to an allergy to the dairy and soy based formulas but they moaned and rolled almost constantly. Now that the allergen has been eliminated they still can cry out in the night (maybe once or twice a week). I found that we just had to let them cry and they would go back to sleep within a few minutes. They have always slept in cribs next to each other and don't wake each other when they cry or if they do, they both go right back to sleep.

My babies are younger, but DS does this all the time, typically I leave him alone and he stops within a minute, if he doesn't, I go in and soothe him and he's right back to sleep. I have no idea why he does it, but I figure if something was truly wrong he would keep on crying.
