Hi there... I know that one of the lovely things about pregnancy is difficulty sleeping... Although with my daughter it started later (I'm only 16 weeks!). Anyway, my question is that I have been waking to numb legs and sometimes numb arms... Is this something to be concerned about or should I just chalk it up to normal pregnancy discomfort?

I didn't have much numbness with my twin pregnancy that I can remember... except when my BP was a little high...

I have trouble sleeping also lately. I am 20 weeks. When I am not pregnant, I sleep very very deeply but lately since being pregnant, I have a lot of trouble staying asleep and I have trouble getting a lot of sleep also. My DH works overnight also so that might too have something to do w/ it.

I do have the numbness occasionally. I try to switch positions frequently--either when the numbness wakes me up or when I have to go to the bathroom. Either way, it's pretty frequently.

I got it pretty frequently as well (especially in my arms). As PP said, just change position frequently. If it keeps up, I would mention it to the doctor on your next visit. My SIL got carpal tunnal syndrome with her pregnancies which I guess is pretty common.

I am only 16 weeks and I also get numbness when I sleep. It started early for me and when I asked my OB he kinda smirked and said unfortunatley it will proably only get wrost. I notice different positions I sleep in are sometimes better.

I began getting numbness in my hands at 18 weeks from Carpal Tunnel. No numbness in legs but definitely trouble sleeping. Rather, trouble getting to sleep, staying asleep and then going back to sleep.

I do go numb due to laying on one side too long. I toss and turn all day and night.

I dont sleep at all anymore. I toss and turn so much and then in the morning my back kills... for the numbness (sp?) I get this easier now that i am preg, esp when i am laying down and my BP is not high.. I would still ask your DR about it. GL

Thanks! I will talk to my doctor about it, I figured it was just something I would have to deal with!
