    Hello-

I've had such a stretch of feeling pretty darn good until the last week and a half..... and am having a REALLY hard time sleeping. My hips hurt so bad when I lay on my side for any length of time (even when not pregnant I have a little bursitis from sports, etc.). I have tried sleeping in a recliner but then I get nauseous and it feels the same as though I was lying flat on my back...which doesn't seem right...

Any other things I should try? The last two nights I feel like I've tried everything.... and hope that I can find something that'll make these last couple months a little more comfortable...!

I hug a pillow and actually sleep kind of on my belly, but not really because I am on the pillow... Does that make sense? This is the only position that feels comfortable.

I have the same problem and I have to sleep with a pillow between my legs and that relieves the pain.

I get the same thing with my hips from lying on my sides! It totally stinks! I did buy a body pillow, but I still end up tossing from side to side and I even wake up flat on my back and it feels so good I don't want to roll over! lol

I tell you what, this pregnancy - with the twins - is tough compared to when I was pregnant with my daughter!!

Hope you find some relief MellySue, till then I sympathize with you!!

have you tried putting lots of pillows between your legs when you lay on your side so that your hips are in equal alignment? or maybe hugging a body pillow while you sleep?

i feel for you i really do. i'm 19 weeks and already having sleep issues. i can no long sleep through the night laying in bed. i'm finding that the mattress is far to flat for my body and find that i have to sleep on the couch with lots of pillows between my knees and under my head. it seems to be the only place i can get rest for more than 2 hours at a time.

    I use 5 pillows - 2 throw pillows, 2 regular and 1 king size.

I use one regular for between my legs (like pp said to keep the hips better aligned), 1 king/1 regular for under my head to keep my head slightly elevated. I use the 2 throw pillows 1 each side. So when I'm laying on my side, I have one in front under the belly and 1 in back under my hip/lower back. That way I can lean back so I'm not completely on my hip but I am not flat on my back.

This has worked for me for months.

I am currently 33 weeks preggo with twin boys and am in the same boat! I have found in the last week getting comfy is more and more difficult. I move from the recliner, to the bed that has about 10 pillows then to the bathtub. My hips get sore after I've been laying on my side for awhile so I roll over. After that, my back hurts so then I grab a pillow and kinda hug it. I'm only getting a few hours of sleep per night so I guess it's my bodies way of getting ready for the boys. I have found that keeping the air turned way down at night, keeping it cool is providing a ittle relief.

Good luck to you and just remember, this too shall pass!!!

The Comfort U pillow was a lifesaver for me! I'd seen it and wanted it when I was pregnant with one of my older children, but couldn't really justify the cost. With my twins, I was so uncomfortable, I was willing to try anything. It made a huge difference from about 19 weeks until around 35 (when nothing could help me be comfortable  :( ). Before that I had pillows tucked everywhere. But they didn't manage to stay, and I'd wake up hurting so much I could hardly walk. Now that I'm pregnant with just one again, it's still a lifesaver. It does take up a lot of space, even in our king sized bed, so one night I went back to my regular pillow configuration. I woke up after a couple of hours with my hip really aching and not wanting to support my weight well when I went to the bathroom. So back to the comfort u pillow for me!

I made a big bed out in the living room for myself, I used the couchbed and put a huge fluffy topper on it and slept there every night for 6 months. I also had tons of pillows all around my body to support anything that hurt, Oh just thinking back I thought I would not make it!

I have a snoogle body pillow that is now on my third pregnancy. Words cannot express how much I love it. It keeps my hips from aching and provides great belly support.

I had a body pillow that I kind of laid on on my back (it kept me on my side w/out putting the pressure on my hips). I was a back sleeper so it made me feel like I was sleeping on my back w/out suffering any blood loss to my brain. I also had a pillow b/t my legs and one to rest my belly on. It's a good thing we got a king sized bed or there wouldn't have been any room for DH! I found myself sleeping in the recliner around 32 weeks b/c my heartburn got pretty bad. Hang in there!
