So we are currently trying to transition are 14 week boys from sleeping in swings, carseats, and boppys to their cribs(they have reflux). I tried putting the sleep positioner with a slight incline that I registered for in the crib and it almost looks too small for them. I think Lucas is almost 15lbs and Zander is about 13lbs. At their 2 month appt they were only 21 1/2 inches. So my question is can I still use them or do you think they are to big for them. How long are you suppose to use these for? Also, any helpful tips on transitioning to cribs would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure of the weight/length limits on them, but if you look at the manufacturer's website they may have that information available.

We used ours until they babies were around 4 months old. When they were rolling on their own, we took them out of the cribs.

Our kids never really used their sleep positioners. We tried, but they always seemed to slide down and they always looked uncomfortable so we pulled them out of the cribs. My DD had reflux and to incline her mattress, we bought a piece of wedged foam and cut that to the right size and put that under her mattress. It worked really well and it was really cheap.

Our babies were sliding out of them by 2 months old, so we stopped using them.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where did you end up buying the wedged foam and how big was the wedge?

My pedi said no to positioners.....good suggestion for reflux or even when babies have colds/trouble breathing....put a few blankets under one end of crib mattress to elevate it....works great for my kids....putting them in for one nap a day or letting them hang out and look at mobile when awake for a few minutes helps them transition - they get to know crib as a cool place to hang out.

See this article and video from Consumer Reports:

One of my twins had reflux and we kept both babies in their bouncy seats for some time since the incline helped. Use a wedge, as others have suggested. Sleep positioners are not a safe alternative, most especially if they are too big and your babies are too young. I don't mean to sound alarmist but there is a really good reason why pediatricians don't recommend their usage.
