How old are they? One of my babies started this last week as well and we have been doing CIO. OR my husband lays with him for 20 minutes singing to him very quietly and he eventually passes out. I have a friend who's baby is doing the same thing, he is about the same age. I wonder if it's just a developmental stage.

my boys are 8mths as of today. i hope its just a phase but i get no sleep b/c of it.bye the time he falls asleep its time to get up.he takes about a 2hr nap a day and only gets around 2 hrs a night. i have no clue how he canonly sleep 4 hrs in 1 day. i got a white noise machine for him 2 day and he is in his crib screaming still. gosh im at a loss what to do with him [IMG]

Sounds to me that they're extremely overtired (I am big Weissbluth fan, you can tell [IMG]). Overtired children have trouble falling and staying asleep. He usually advises (he's our ped) to start with a very early bedtime for several nights in a row (e.g. 5.30 - 6.00 pm), and have them nap at 9 am and 1 pm.

It's definitely worth picking up the book in my opinion. I followed it with dd (a very easy and mellow child) and she's his perfect example. Never had any sleep issues with her in the past 2 1/2 years. I know all children are different, but it can definitely help.

that never crossed my mind about him being overtired. i tried the white noise machine lasnight and he screamed still . he fell asleep when i would hold him and rock him but even a little scratch or a deep breathe from me would wake him lol. and i do not feel comf with him sleeping on my chest all night its not safe IMO. so every time i would try and lay him down he would wake right back up. he finally got to sleep aroun 1:45 am which is good for him [IMG] b/c its usually like 3am. but once he was asleep and stay asleep he slept from about 1:45-9:45 this morning . i put the noise machine in with him when he was complty. asleep.another question.... they are both on solids and cereal now but still sometimes wake in the middleof the night to eat?any clues why?they are8mths old and to me that seems way 2 old to be getting up to eat.on another note i am so happy [IMG] b/c i said i couldnt do the CIO method b/c i live in an apart complex and all the neighbors gets aggitated well weve been looking for a house but cant seem to find one that fits all 5 of us but 2 day i found a GREAT duplex in a GREAT neighborhood that we get to move into on the 15th.... [IMG] to this little apartment.. im so happy. i spoke with the new neighbor and told him i have 3 kids and how the babies cry alot at night but we would make theire room the 1 furthest from his wall and he had no problms. with that he also said we can have the whole back yard instead of sharing b/c he has no kids so mine can have a place for a swing set and my oldest sons trampoline and a place to ride his power wheel. god is good i never thought i would find a place like this in out budget. 2day was the 1st dy it was in the paper so i had to snatch it up.. im glad i did. its beatiful.but any help u can give i will appericate.
