Wow. I don't know if it is the time change or growth spurts or what!!!! Up until about two weeks ago you could set your watch to the twins. The feel asleep at 9 pm. Woke up at 1 am to eat, woke up again between 4-5am to eat. I would just stay up at that point. I was getting 5-6 hours of sleep (not consecutive but total hours) Things were good. Where did that go?

The last couple of weeks have been crazy!!! Lets just do last night. They fell asleep at 10. Allison woke up at midnight. Ellie woke up at 1. Allison woke up at 2. Ellie woke up at 3:30. Ellie woke up at 5 and stayed awake until 6:30. Allison is now awake. I have been getting about 3 hours sleep total every night for the last two weeks - again - not consecutive but total. I am usually fine with not a lot of sleep a few nights a week - but this is every night!!! WHAT IS GOING ON!!!

Ugh - just had to vent.

Angel! [IMG]s! Growth spurt maybe? I think our sleep went a little haywire around 4 months. [IMG]

DS's sleep has gone crazy too...I'm not sure what's going on with him. I have a feeling he's going through a touch of separation anxiety at nap and bedtimes and then when he wakes at night he can't seem to settle himself back down again. A couple nights ago he had me up EVERY hour. Last night was better but still not great. I ended up bringing him to bed with me in the spare room so at least we both got some sleep.

For your DD's could be a growth spurt...try cluster feeding until bedtime and hopefully they should stay down. Hope it gets better soon!

I understand your pain! I just had a night like that last night and one last week as well. It's so exhausting!

Could it be teething? 4 months is young for actual teething but I think their teeth can begin affecting the nerves and causing pain. At around 4 months both of my sons had major sleeping issues and I would Orajel and give Tylenol. I'm not sure if you want to do this since their adjusted age is younger than 4 months, but this could be the reason. GL!

I guess it's a common thing around 4 months for the "sleep thing" to go crazy. Just hang in there, they'll get over this developmental hiccup and start sleeping better soon. [IMG]
