When did your little one sit up from a laying down position? One of our girls has been doing it for about 2-3 weeks now and the other still is not. She will stand up and hold on when you put her up, but isn't pulling up all be herself (the other one is)...should i be concerned about this? They were born at 32 weeks.
    TIA!!

Mine are the same. Both are crawling but only Lila is pulling up on everything & sitting herself up. Luke army crawls & I think it is just more difficult to get up from flat on his stomach. He loves to stand but can't get himself up. Just wait, I'm sure she won't be far behind her sister! :)

They both seemed to do it about a week before they started to crawl...so Mia at about 9.5 months and Emma just last week.

I know it is easier said than done - but I wouldn't worry about it. If it will make you feel better you could call your pedi and see what they think.

Is the one crawling? I think that when they can crawl they can do this. For dd that was at 8 months and ds closer to 10 months.

yep, they are both crawling. The one that doesn't get up does the army crawl like Tina's little one...maybe thats why?

Thank you ladies...i love TS, so full of info!

I think thats it, once she starts crawling she will be able to do it I bet. ds army crawled for about 2 weeks before *really* crawling and thats when he could into sitting position himself and pull himself to standing soon afterwards.

Emma learned to sit, then army crawl, then crawl, then get to a sit from crawl.

Jake learned to crawl, then sit, then sit from a crawl.

So I agree that it will probably come after she is doing a regular crawl!

This was a skill that my Grace measured behind in, even for her adjusted age. It's a skill that they should do anywhere from 7-10 months. If yours were 8 weeks early, then it should be anywhere from 9-12 months adjusted. So she's still in range.

Grace started doing it around 13 months (she was 9 weeks early). We did have an Early Intervention assessment done for her around 12.5 months, and as soon as we had them come in she just started doing stuff on her own - go figure. You can get a free Early Intervention assessment at any time and they will provide therapy or things for you to do with her if she qualified.

I have a daughter that did everything on track or even early for her actual age, while Grace is doing things more on her adjusted age. It's really hard not to compare the two but don't stress on it too, too much. I know, easier said than done, I've been there.

I don't think you need to worry just yet. If she is crawling and she was a 32 weeker, I think she is doing great! I bet you'll see she start lay and sit up within the next couple weeks. :)
