Mine are 9 months and still don't know how to drink from a sippy... They will drink if I hold them but they don't hold them on their own and don't know how to tilt them so the liquid goes in their mouth... They don't hold their bottle either, and when they do, they don't tilt it either.

I admit I haven't been trying as much as I should have, but the last times I did, they played with them as toys...

I'm confused how to get them to drink from them?

If you use avent bottles try buying handles. You can buy a package of two handles that just slips on the bottles gives them something easy to hold. I put them on and eventually they got the hang of them. Now they hold their bottles without the handles.

As for sippy cups I have been giving them the first years take n toss ones with just water whenever they are in their high chairs mostly they just play with them, but the last couple of days they have actually been drinking some.

    Good luck

Just keep offering them :). The Nuby straw cups are good to use too.

I agree with Pamela, just keep offering them. We use the Nuby cups with the handles and the twins took to them better then the Playtex ones we had. Eventually they will get it. It seemed like that for ours, we started offering them at 6 months and I think for a month or so, they played with them and then 1 day I caught Luke drinking out of his and the next day Sophia was. Good luck!

Mine didnt hold their bottles until 9.5 months, but figured out how to use a sippy cup shortly thereafter. Keep offering them, they will figure out soon that they cant get any by osmosis

Mine have just recently started to figure out the Nuby two handled ones, I just put water in it and put it on the foot stool. The odd time I'd show them by lifting it up or turning it so it was going the right way. But yes even my slow learners are figuring it out now.

Elliot has been holding his bottle for months - Max has just begun to. Elliot - can drink from anything - Max not so much! He is getting there though so I just keep offering him the sippy and he is beginning to get the idea.
