How old are/were your twins when you began introducing the sippy cup?

I tried it a few weeks ago with my dd, but she didn't take to it...

I just introduced them last night and my boys will be 6 months tomorrow. One of them loved it and wasn't happy when dh took it away and the other one didn't like it as much. Just give it time. [IMG]

I started slowly around 6 months. They still aren't crazy about them now. They get them 2x a day w/ solids. Give it time.

Six months, at which point they just chewed on it. Now I give it for snacks, in between bottles. Jacob drinks well out of it, Emma not so good. Keep trying, and try different types of cups if they don't like the first kind, the Nuby cups with the soft spouts are good for beginners because they are more like a bottle. Good Luck! [IMG]

We have just started to introduce the cups, but with no luck. I think I am going to Walmart and buying a few different ones this weekend. The nuby ones that I tried have gone over like a lead balloon. I have tried water, formula, and watered down juice with no success.

I can only get my guys to drink water or juice from a Sippy. No luck with formula yet. They also will only use the Nuby cups which I have come to hate! They make a huge mess and get soaking wet 1/2 the time. They end up chewing on them and letting the juice dribble out. I gave left 2 Avent Sippys out this morning for the sitter and told her they NEED to learn to use those b/c they are old enough now. I called home and so far she said the Avents are a no go [IMG] They have soft spouts [IMG]

I'm not having any luck with the sippy cups either. I have tried several Nuby cups and they just seem to stay wet. I have other kinds that I need to try. If anyone has a specific suggestion then let me know.

We started just before six months. I did just water after both solid feedings for the first couple of weeks and just started formula after cereal and water in the afternoon (just about 1-2 oz. of each liquid so we don't waste a ton). We are using the take and toss cups per suggestion of another twin mom. It does make a mess but the slow leak from the cup is a way to teach them there is something there to get. My girls are catching on. Certainly not good with them by any means, but they are getting it.

    Stephanie,
There was a post on here recently that someone said the Gerber sip & smile was the best. I looked it up, doesn't look like it has any handles. My girls hold their bottles well, so I think I am going to try to find some this weekend.

5 months, when they first got solids. They really had no idea what to do with it, but we'd put water in it and give them some after their solids. We always put a sippy on their tray with every meal and snack.

Becky- are they able to use the straw cups very well? Do they make a HUGE wet mess like the other Nuby's? My guys chew on the soft sput nubbies and drink but get soaked in the process.
