Since my girls are boobie fed and rarely have bottle I figured I would follow Pamela's lead toward being done with bottles. The only problem with that is they have not mastered the sippy cup. Well yesterday I gave the girls some boobie milk in these cheapy no frills sippy cups. No valves and no handles (they were free from WIC) and the girls *got* it! They drank ~3oz each!
Last night I gave them some water with dinner and they even drank that!

So for those struggling with sippy cups, maybe the old fashioned cup with a lid is the way to go!

We found ones like that too from First Year! They drink more out of those than all the "fancy" cups! Great advice!

Yeah-I did away with handle cups when I realized the bottles didn't have handles-and the boys could hold those no problem! They couldn't figure out the handle part! And I also don't use valves. Too complicated for us! We just use the Toss and Take brand and they work for us!

On a side note-I wasnt too sure how much water they were actually getting out of the cups. Well one day we were at the mall and a lack of planning on my part-it was lunch time. So they had some macaroni and cheese-and it came with a drink. So I got them some apple juice. I put juice in the cups-no water(I know-bad mommy moment!). Well-Anthony drank the ENTIRE cup! So now I know-they can drink from them! ;) Oh-and there were no issues afterwards with the bowels! :p

Yeah!!! Less the clean too. My girls use the playtex ones with the valves and I'm sick of cleaning those little valves.

Thanks for the tip, I might have to try that. I've gotten 3 different kinds of sippy cups so far, looking for some they'll drink a lot from.

i don't know if my problem is the sippies, or ivana just thinking it's "for fun", cuz i've given them water in our nuby's and marina chugs it right down, but ivana takes the water in her mouth and lets it run out and down her chin (this si fun for her). so i tried milk in there and she did the same thing! the sippy seems to be more of a "fun" thing than a "feeding" thing for her...
