I'm going to Target today to buy new sippy cups. We've been using the Nubby Soft Spout transition cups but they are leaking everywhere! What are your recommendations for sippy cups that don't leak?

We are a bit younger but my kids are fully off of bottles. We use the playtex insulators and they do not seem to leak at all and the kidll with them!

I recently bought a pair of The First Years insulated sippy cups and I really like them. There's only 2 pieces because the spout is built into the lid. Good luck! Who knew finding the perfect sippy was as hard as finding the perfect bottle.

I haven't found any that don't drip if they get turned upside down, but if by "leak" you mean that liquid comes out around the edges when the child is drinking... We use the First Years Take & Toss ones (i.e., disposable, though we don't toss them) and they don't leak at all. Super easy to clean because there aren't any valves or straws or anything. The only downside is that the spout gets pretty chewed up after a couple of months, but they are 10 for $5, so I just buy more.

We really like The First Years insulated ones here, too. Elmo and Disney Princess ones. No valves, no leaking.

We also liked these ones at first but they are a bit hard to suck a good amount of liquid out of. I could see my girls were struggling and was watching their cheeks suck in as hard as possible to get the liquid. I like the fact that there is no extra part to clean but I tried to cut open the slit a little more so they were able to get the liquid easier and once I did that, they leaked (duh).

These have always been my favorites. These were the first ones we used when we transitioned to sippies. We recently just replaced these with newer ones since they had been using them for over a year. We also have a bunch of the playtex ones that someone mentioned and I absolutely love those as well. I usually use the Gerber ones for milk and the playtex ones for juice and water.

It really is trial and error. What one might like, another may not. I tried out several different ones before I found the ones that we have stuck to. The trick is to just buy 2 of them, try them out and if they seem happy, then go and and invest in more.

That is what we did -- we use the Gerber for milk w/no valve is needed for my twins. And we used "The First Years Insulated" with juice or water for carry around and that included going places. They are into straw sippies now without biting them like they did when they were 15 mos old. They'll be 18 months next week on March 30th.

My friend is a speech pathologist and apparently sippy cups aren't good for more than 3 months. They strongly suggest using straw sippies.. just a thought. We're going to try and transition to them..

We used straw sippies (Nuby). They didn't leak when new but every cup we've tried leaks eventually with normal use/abuse. The only problem with the straw kind is that the straw is just so darned chewable that I had to buy new ones after each teething phase.

ETA: My best advice is to get them on regular cups as early as possible because sippies are a PITA. We only use sippies in the car now and the two cups I keep in their bedroom are straw sippies for the just before bed drink (that needs to stop since we're PTing so I'm "forgetting" it now and making them ask for it if they want it)

Sippy cups are not my friend! :) I have been through so many to try & find that "perfect" one......I'm not sure it exists. I've tried those First Year cups that don't have valves & at first I loved them. But I don't know if they're just too old now or what, but they leak worse than any & I'm about to throw them all away.

So far, my favorite has been the Playtex cups . They tend to leak less. They're not insulated very well, though & I'm still looking for an insulated kind. DD is addicted to having ice in her cups!

Gerber changing color ones here! We started with the Nuby soft spout ones also since they didn't have valves, but a lot of the lids didn't seem to fit right and they were always leaking. Plus my oldest was a major chewer and would bite on the spout until there was a hole in it. Then she learned how to pinch the spout to make the liquid pour out onto the table.

Ditto here. We also use the Take and Toss 4 ounce ones for water.
