    hey everyone!
I know there has been tons of posts about this, but...
I was just reading in the book "Your Baby's First Year, week by week" by Glade B Curtis, that at 21 weeks, your baby may want to start using a sippy cup? Which leads to this ?, when did your twins start w/ a sippy cup & what did you put in it, as my pedi says no juice, until 7-8 months or so & then sparingly.

    Just wondering [IMG]

Try water or ebm/formula first. If they don't want to suck on the sippy cup you can take the little silicon-thingy-that-keeps-it-from-leaking out and they will be able to get something to drink. [IMG] Or if you feel like having a lot of fun you can use a small regular cup and let them sip water out of that.

We just recently started sippy cups with water. We give them this once a day after solids in the evening. They have only had diluted juice once and seem to enjoy water better which is great since juice is not needed. I did take the valves out so they could understand that there's fluid in there. IMHO, 4 months seems young. With my other DD's I did it at 6-7 months.

Going along with this, we were wondering the same thing. My point to this post however is that Avent has some sippy cups out that seemed new to me (i hadn't seen them) and they're soft tips with "sippy" holes on the end so it's kinda like a transition sippy cup for the babies. I guess the end would be like a nipple but it had the sippy holes and the plastic leak guard inside. It said 6+ months but i think we may wait awhile.

Its usually no earlier than 6 months but I admit I was trying to get Patrick to try it tonight [IMG] He was sitting in his highchair chewing on Zweiback toast so I thought what the hay! Might as well try it. He liked it but couldn't keep it up there long enough, it was a Gerber one with the two handles!

    Hi Brandi,

I have always introduced a sippy at about 5-6 months. They just chew on it at first, until they figure out how it works! I have the same ones that Sarah has. I usually just put water in it, sometimes formula! [IMG]
