One of my sons is really good at drinking from an adult straw (we tried a few times because he was so interested in our carry-out cups of water with straws).

Any recommendations of good brands of sippy cups with a straw-type spout?

    Thanks!! :)

Love, love, love the Nuby straw sippy cups. It has a nice soft flexible straw and it pretty much spillproof. Got mine at Target.

I like the Playtex ones the best, because they're the easiest to take apart and clean....we've been using them for years with my older one. (And, they're the "safe" plastic without BPA.)

I'm using them with my babies, too -- DD does well, but DS just sucks up the water and spits it out!

I started my son out on sippy cups with straws b/c someone said it was good for them to learn early (I'm wondering if that's really a necessary life lesson?). I ended up hating them so much I threw them all away. I could never get the straw part clean & they all started to leak eventually. Now we're on regular sippy cups & they are sooo much easier to clean! I'm not sure how his straw knowledge is going to help in the long run but at least he knows how to use one I guess ;)

Not to threadjack, but where did you find Playtex that advertise "without BPA?" I love their regular sippy cups but I have not seen that advertised. Is it new?

Ditto about the Nuby cups with the straw! My babies had a really easy time figuring them out.

Also, DH has those Camelbak water bottles with the "big bite" valve, and DD figured out how to drink from those too! By accident - I thought she was just playing with it, then I went to nurse her at a time she ALWAYS wants to nurse, and she'd have nothing to do with it. I checked, and the water bottle was almost empty!

I like the plain old take and toss straw cups. After having one of just about every sippy cup, lots of mismatched parts, etc. with my first, with the twins I've decided to stick with just one kind and use the take and toss.
