sippy cup question

i've posted before about when to give my LO's sippy cups and most say during meal time.
they are drinking bottles during mealtime so when exactly do i hand them to them? lol? i give them the cups with water and they don't like the taste of water too much.

 

I would just keep offering it them as much as possible. Maybe you could give it to them to try before their bottles, they will start to get the hang of it quicker. They are still really young and have plenty of time to "get it".

 

I never gave bottles during mealtime, they had a bottle, then a little while later their meal with a sippy of water. It takes them quite awhile to learn to drink from them. Just keep giving it to them & they will get it!

 

Have you tried putting their formula or breast milk in the sippy cups? Once they notice that something familiar is coming out of it they are sure to drink from it afterwards! Yes, it's called tricking them...but it's for their own good! Good luck! :youcandoit:

OK... what's the importance of sippy cups? Is this a new age discovery that we need to quit bottles early? I'm not being sarcastic, I am genuinely curious. When I was growing up, I don't think I EVER used sippy cups, so I didn't even think to use them till I read this.

 

that's a good question! i have no idea, either!
is it so they no longer use their bottles? should i have them drinking their formula out of the sippy cup rather than a bottle?
