My boys are 11.5 months old and have been doing sippies of water since 6 months with the nubys. One of my boys sucks the water out and it comes right back out his mouth all over his chin, shirt etc. He keeps very little in his mouth. I want to attempt to switch from bottles to whole milk in sippies but I doubt that he will keep the milk in. Does he just not get it or is he just playing with it as if it is a toy. He does drink some but as soon as water goes in you see water coming out his mouth. I have tried other sippies (without valves) and those just make a bigger mess. Will the valves help him keep more in?

One of my girls did the same thing. I just offered it as frequently as possible so she would "get it".

Just keep trying...and maybe switch to one with a valve? Like the Gerber ones?
