Ok, so I have a question about the waking up to feed thing. Do you literally wake one up when you get the other one and feed them at exactly the same time? Or do you feed the one that is awake and then wake the other.

I would feed the one who let me know they were hungry first then if the other hadn't woken by the time I was done then I would wake and feed them. Honestly, it was very very rare that the second baby to be fed was still sleeping when the first was done. Most every time s/he would wake during the time I was feeding the initially hungry baby. They pretty much let me know every 3 hours timed from the beginning of their previous feeding, I always fed one at a time so they were about 30 minutes apart in schedule (one feeding would take about an hour).

I always fed them both at the same time. When one would wake, I would wake the other, change diapers, and feed. Good luck with delivery! Can't wait to see you over here in First Year! :hug99:

When mine were infants, I fed them at different times because I did not have the hang of double feedings yet. I was more comfortable doing one at a time. I never woke them to feed either; I just fed on demand. When they were about 4 months old, I started wanting to feed at the same time and so I put them on the same schedule. It was hard, but it worked wonders!!!!!!!!! You'll get the hang of it! Bottle propers worked wonders here!

I woke them at the same time. My mom lived with us till the girls were 2 months so I always had someone here to help me feed them. So - we woke them and fed them at the exact same time. I would change one and start to BF her while either DH or mom changes the other. When Baby 1 was done BFing they would give me baby 2 and give baby 1 a small bottle.

When my mom left and I was alone during the day I switched to pumping and fed them bottles at the same time (unless DH was home then we did it the other way)

I would feed the hungry one then wake the other if he was still asleep at first, then when they were a bit older I would feed them both at the exact same time.

when they were younger, if one woke up then I woke the other one up. most of the time they other one would wake up. one person (who didn't have twins) told us that you should never wake a sleeping baby and we were probably training them to wake up. so we decided at about 2 months that we would only feed who ever woke up. well, we got about 30minutes -1 hour of sleep. after 2 nights of that, we went back to our routine. at about 4 months we just let them decided. we quit feeding them at night and they have finally started sleeping through the night. GOOD LUCK!

I would feed the one that was awake, then wake the other, change diaper and feed them. I personally had issues and could not BF, If I was full time BF'ing, I would have woken the other, changed their diapers, then fed both together...

When we fed them 2 - 3 times a night we wake whoever was still asleep. Now they only feed once, and we feed them as they wake.

We were on a 4 hour schedule and we always fed them at the same time. So we would wake one if necessary. It was hard once DH went back to work, but you get used to it, it gets a lot better. I used breastfeeding pillows and receiving blankets to prop the bottles and it worked great for us.

We fed the one that woke first, put her back to bed, then got the 2nd up to eat if she wasn't already up. When they were feeding 2-3 times a night, I'd BF 2 of them and DH would take the other one, sometimes formula, sometimes pumped breeast milk. One night we tried feeding them on demand and I felt like I didn't get any sleep at all.

Good luck! I'm sure (through trial & error!) that you'll find what works best for you.

ditto except that when we were waking them, we would do it when the first one was finished, so they are fed one at a time
