I'm just wondering what the standard is as to how soon before a birthday party you're supposed to send the invites? Our babies' birthday is on Easter, but we're having the party they day before (Saturday), which makes me inclined to send them out maybe even a little earlier since people may have plans on a holiday weekend?

    Thanks in advance! :D

Isn't 2-3 wks ahead common? That's what I would do.

I sent mine out a little less than 3 weeks ahead of time and put the rsvp date 1 week ahead so I can figure out how much food and drinks to buy.

Thank you! That's what I was thinking of doing...so that means I could send them maybe this weekend or the beginning of next week...I'm itching to send them out...I think I've officially become obsessed with their birthday party!!!! I'm not weird right?

If you are weird, than I am insane! I have so much on my plate right now with work and other things, but the one thing that I'm beyond obsessed with is their party!!! Right now I have a word document open and I'm working on the schedule for how everything is going to get done between now and next Saturday. Right now I've heard back from almost everyone and the guest list is about 55 people.. DH thinks I'm so completely over my head, but I'm having the best time planning this party! One thing I haven't done yet is figure out with DH what their presents will be... Guess I should go add that to my to do list!

Thank you so much Leighann, you just made me feel normal again! I've been gathering ideas for this for weeks, maybe even months...and I'm enjoying every stinkin second of it! I'm afraid our guest list might get out of hand, too, but WHO CARES!!!! This only happens once right? What are you doing for a theme?

Since they are pisces, we are doing a beach party/tropical fish theme. It works since we are having it a yacht club. I can't believe its only 1 week and 4 days away!

I agree due to the holiday you may want to think ahead. I say 3 weeks is plenty of time. If you know people that have pretty busy schedules, you may want to consider telling people about it so they already know about it when the invites come.
