I need a good side by side stroller. I currently have the Graco front and back stroller and I hate it!! The kid in the back kicks the kid in the front and they are just unhappy all the way around.

My DH is hesitant about getting one cause he thinks they will not fit through doors or walkways or isles. I need one that is comfy for the boys, some storage underneath the stroller and folds down fairly compact to put in the back of the van. Any ideas???

We had the Maclaren Twin Traveller and loved it! Fit through every doorway we ever attempted, easy to fold, easy to steer, and put up with 3.5 years of use and abuse. When my boys were about 18 months we splurged and bought the Mountain Buggy urban double. THIS was the best stroller EVER! It turned with the slightest touch and was insanely easy to push even with two 40 lb. children. If I had twins again I would get the MBUD first thing. I even bought the single for my newest little guy and love it as much as the double. However, the price is pretty steep and not everyone lives in an urban area where their kids are in strollers constantly. I would look into it, though!

I tried a lot of models by either borrowing them from friends or buying them used and then selling on Craigslist. After all that research I decided on the MacClaren. It is light, easy to get in and out of the car and narrow enough to fit everywhere. (That's only the new Macs, the older ones are a little wider and they gave me a hard time.) The Mac looks great and is nice and comfy, folds up and down in a heartbeat and is far better than any of the others I tried. It runs about 350.00 but I got it on sale for less.If you decide to get that one, let me know and I'll dig up the website for you.

If money were no object I would have gone with the Jane Powertwin. It's like a jogger but is also good for use at the mall ect. My BOB jogger is HUGE and would never fit in a doorway so that's a pain. The Jane would have replaced the jogger and the daily stroller. But, since I got the BOB used and insurance purchased the MacClaren (my old one was stolen) I went with the two instead of one.

Good luck, there really is no perfect stroller but it does get a lot better than that Graco you've been using!

    I LOVE my Peg Perego.

My twins are 6 months old and I have already had 4 strollers. I am very settled on this one though. I LOVE IT!

DD has the Peg Perego and loves it... the boys hold hands in the stroller...SO cute!! It can be challenging at times getting through tight spots but overall she's happy with it...

The side by side that I used was a very simple double umbrella stroller from Kohlcraft. It has canopies, and a storage pouch on the back and the seats recline. I think it was around $50...can't remember, my grandmother actually bought it for us. It's a workable option if you are on a budget. It's always fit through any door I go through...although you do have to be careful to have it going through the door straight and not trying to make a quick corner. I do have stroller envy over some of the ones described by the pp...but I have to remind myself that it's a very short phase where you use the stroller, and unless you are bustling in and out of busy department stores every single day then the price tag might not be worth it. My almost 3 year olds never even use the stroller anymore.

We bought the Combi Twin Savvy used on Craigslist. I'm glad we didn't pay full price for it. It's fallilng apart and we don't even use it often. I do love how light it is and compact it gets when folded, but it feels so cheap overall. I have the Graco tandem as well and had to bring it out of storage a few times because the Combi just couldn't handle our needs.

I have the Peg Perego Aria and am very happy with it. It is a pain to get through some stores, but I don't generally take the kids to though stores anyway. It is very lightweight, folds up pretty small and rides pretty decent. The kids like both sitting in front and being able to see.

I haven't got one yet, I'm still searching. But I would suggest looking at them in person, if at all possible. I saw a few online that I thought looked good, but when I saw them in person I thought how in the world will a toddler fit in there??? They were very narrow in the seats & looked horribly uncomfortable.

We bought the Peg Perego Aria from Craigslist and love, love, love it! We had a Graco (i think) side-by-side that was a PITA to steer and a super tight fit through some doors. And it had to trays for the girls and no cup holder for me. I desperately wanted to get a "real" stroller, but couldn't justify the $300+. I was SO SO EXCITED when I saw this like new stroller on Craigslist for less than half the price! I still get a little giddy every time I use this stroller. :D

I think you need to gauge what you will be using it for. Where I am at everyone has a mountain buggy. (queens-nyc area) It is good, sturdy, fits through doors, doesn't get caught on the curb or in snow/ice, can be used for light jogging/powerwalking.
The mac is only used when you need to be in and out of cabs (not me!) or traveling. The kids grow out of it fast I have heard.
I have a double snap and go for when they are in the car seats till 6 months ( which is also the norm around here). Then will use the mountain buggy. I got a great deal on it on ebay NEW from baby surplus store. I know alot of people buy from them, they are owned by a very well know baby store in NYC and are reputable. they also have the mac.

    good luck !

I also have the Peg Perego Aria. It works great for us. I have found that it is lightweight, fairly easy to maneuver, and have not had too much trouble with it being too wide. The storage underneath is not so great. I can put a few items under there, but if it is too big or heavy, it does sag and drag on the ground.

i got my twin combi at my twins club tag sale...it was in great shape. i like it...it is VERY light and fits through doorways, etc. i use it for walks and everything. it folds up very compact. i guess it really depends on what you are using it for.

We have a Valco Baby and I LOVE it. It fits really well through door ways and most clothes racks. It is a bit pricey but well woth it. We have used it for almost 2 years and it is holding up great.

We had the same problem with our stroller that is why we went to the SBS. I got the Graco DUORider and we love it. I got it a Burlington Coat Factory and it was less than $100. It fits through all the doors and has a nice big basket underneath. The kids are much happier in it, they love going in the stroller.

We have the Combi Twin Savvy EX and I love it. I have never had a problem fitting through a doorway and it folds up more compactly so it doesn't take a whole lot of trunk space. We had the Graco DuoGlider before and once the babies were to big for the carriers to be used with it, I hated it. Check ut www.strollerdepot.com I saved $75 on my Savvy and also got free shippping. It was the best deal we could find.

We did this in reverse. We were given the Mountain Buggy before the girls were born. It has been EXCELLENT. As pp said, it's so light to push and easy to steer. Definitely worth every penny. It also fits through every door we've so far encountered. When the girls were 14 months we bought a second hand maclaren twin traveller which is fab because it's so light and easy to fold (the MBUD is a bit of a hassle to get in and out of our car as it just folds flat not like an umbrella stroller) but gosh is it hard to push uphill.

I have a Mountain Buggy Urban Double (great ride) and a MacLaren Twin Rally for the car. Wouldn't trade either one of them. Owned a Combi ... too much plastic for me. BRU and Right Start advised me not to get the Aria or the Combi because of that (too many complaints about too many plastic parts falling apart).

Another Peg Perego Twin Aria owner here. I LOVE it. I owned the double snap n' go when they were still in carseats, but now we use the Aria almost exclusively. I also bought two inexpensive umbrella strollers for when DH and I take them out but need to look at separate things.

we had the peg perego aria for about 3 years, but then then got to heavy for it (45 and 47 pounds) , and I still needed them in a stroller for my sanity! (they like to do the taking off in different directions sometimes) so I bought the macalaren since that holds up to 55 pounds in each side! When I did the research that was the only "smaller" side by side stroller that held that amount of weight. Money wise I wish I had just started with the Maclaren, it would have been easier! It rides very smooth, is easy to push and folds pretty small.
