    Hi,
I need advice regarding a side by side double stroller. I would like something that doesn't break the bank but is light and easy to use. Anybody have one they love? My twins are kicking each other and fighting too much in the front to back one. thanks...

Hands down recommendation is for a Maclaren Twin Techno. However, that is bank-breakable...so I would say look for a gently used one, or a Twin Triumph (the less expensive buggy). Craigslist or your local twin club are great places to look for/post for a gently used one. Best part of buying used: Maclaren retains GREAT resale value so you can get back a good percent of what you pay for it if you maintain it well.

If you really just want a cheap option, we also had the Jeep Wrangler. I actually didn't care for this stroller and got rid of mine...but for $75 it does the job. My biggest complaint about it was that it TECHNICALLY fit through a standard doorway, but only when you enter at EXACTLY the right angle. The second downside to this one is no storage basket, but I just hung bags off the umbrella handles...no biggie.

    Lastly, a warning that hitters/kickers in a tandem = hitters/biters in a SBS! :blbl:

We just got the Maclaren Twin Techno which cost about $400 but is totally worth it IMO. I don't plan to ever buy another stroller again. Like PP said that Twin Techno is a cheaper alternative. I had this one in the single and also loved it. I think that one is about $200, maybe not even that expensive, and I never bought another single after I purchased that one. I bought it at Target. My almost 4 year old still uses it. I think they are a good investment.

I have the Jeep SBS and HATE it. It is very hard to fit through doors and does not steer well. Mine is falling apart and I rarely use it. I guess I got what I paid for.

I have the Jeep and have a completely different experience. We wanted something that didn't break the bank either. Our tandem was so expensive and so heavy. We got our Jeep over a year and a half ago....and I love it. It is so light, stays in the back of the van at all times. It doesn't take up a ton of room in the back of the van.

The kids love it. I love that it is light and easy to use and still reclines back when they are tired. As for fitting through doorways...I just go in backwards and never have a problem. I normally go in backwards anyway so that I can hold the door if I am alone while I bring the kids through.

Ours has been everywhere...on vacation, various amusement parks, local parks, the pool...etc and is holding up well.

This is the one that we have...which is probably the same that everyone else is referring to.

I have to agree with SweetpeaG, I'm not sure the fighting will change in a SBS.

We have the McClaren Twin Traveller and it is a great stroller. IHowever, it is an older modle and I don't know if they are still making it.

Have you tried looking for a used stroller on craigslist.com or at your local consignment store. I've seen several double stollers listed on craigslist in my area in the last couple of weeks.

jeep side by side, good becoz it has the tops to keep sun out and can lie down, but still like an umbrella stroller.

I have a black/silver Kolcraft that was about $40, it's lightweight and hasn't broken yet.

I like the Peg Perego Aria, but it is a little pricey. A lot on here also like the Combi. Maybe you could check a Craiglist or Ebay?

I have a SBS Kolcraft. It was pretty inexpensive, and while it's not the nicest stroller on the market it works well for us, especially for the price.

We had the Maclaren Twin Traveller and it was a beautiful stroller. Unfortunately the fighting in the SBS was way, way worse than in a tandem. With the tandem, I only really had to control the kid in back. With a SBS, both kids could get at each other. :) I sold my SBS after a year because it was just too much of a pain.

We switched from the DuoGlider to the Combi Twin Savvy when that happened to us and never looked back. One of the best features is how light it is and nicely it folds in. I haven't shopped for gear in a long time but I ordered it from Albee Baby. You can sometimes find great deals on gear there if you are willing to take a model from last season. I really did not care about pattern choice being limited because I remember I saved a bundle.

We got the graco duoglider and LOVED it! Only 120, so not a bank breaker and it was light enough - actually, the lightest I could fold and lift when I was pg with the boys. I tested every one in the store.

I almost hated to get rid of it, but it was useless when the boys have it in their minds that they're big enough to walk everywhere! LOL

We bought the Combi Twin Savvy on Craigslist for $100. It's great for being lightweight and compact, but I am so glad I didn't pay anymore for it than I did. It definitely feels very cheap compared to the tandem duoglider I used previously. But, my girls don't like the stroller anymore so we rarely use one. They would much prefer to walk everywhere. We even forgot to put it in the car when we went on vacation and didn't miss it at all. If your kids are big on strollers, I would agree with the PP and see if you can find something used. They won't be using it for too much longer and you don't want to invest a lot if that's the case.
