I have decided that I am going to tie their sippy cup to their highchair. After they drink from them, they BOTH throw their cup (with vengeance!) and at different times so I am always bending down to pick them up. THey both look at me because they want to see my reaction. I have tried ignoring it and I have tried firmly saying no. This has been going on for months.

Did you hvae any magic tips that helped your children from throwing their cups.

My boys broke two cups this way, chunking them on the floor. Since they know that throwing cups is not allowed, I take it away and say something like " I see that you don't need it anymore, I'll put it up for later." It took only a couple of times me doing it and sticking to it, regardless of fussing. They learn best when I follow through. :)

    Good Luck!

We used sippy cup leashes for a long time. It really helped them learn not to throw them and also saved me from picking them up every 30 seconds.

Trish, I never heard of the leashes. I just googled it and saw they sell them here at TS! Thanks!

I've never heard of the leashes but we used to use link-a-doos to attach the cups to the high chair. Of course, we had to use cups with a closed handle. This worked pretty well and helped to get them out of the habit.

Nicole-We have the same problem here, throwing of the cups!!! It drive my DH nuts!!! Me too, but I guess I'm used to it, I don't like it though. I don't remember my oldest DD doing this. I have no solution, just wanted to say I feel your pain, we are going through it here too.

We just give them twice to drop them, and then the cup gets taken away until the next meal or snack time. That's twice on purpose. Sometimes, you can tell they drop it by accident, and then they get it back. Mine are doing ok, but not pros yet with their cups...
