Soooo, I have been very sick for the past three days. My mother in law and step mother in law each have a baby. I am miserable and quite lost without my little boogers. :(

I went to the doctor. I have 2 ear infections, a sinus infection, and a cold. I was running a 102.3 fever after taking tylenol. I feel like a lazy butt, and don't know what to do with my time now. I'm wondering when it should be "safe" for them to be around me. I don't let them around people who have been sick until they prove they're completely over it, because RSV scares the heck out of me.

My mom is willing to keep either or both babies tonight, but I really miss them... and feeling really guilty for not being with them.

    Hmmm... what would you do?

I think I would take advantage of your moms offer and get some rest while you can!

There will be plenty of times in your lifetime when you have the oppertunity to take care of your kids when you are sick. No need to feel guilty over this one time!

I will tell you what I have done. I have been very sick post-partum, with a compromised immune system, so it seems I am just well enough to take care of my babies for a few weeks when I pick up something else. I have family nearby, and I have called on them numerous times to care for my babies. I quickly realized that the babies came back home happy, healthy and well-cared for. I guess I am able to part with them quite easily since I was re-admitted to the hospital shortly after I came home from having them, and I wasn't home until they were 9 weeks old, and then spent the next three months only caring for them as I could, with help here around the clock. Needless to say, the experience taught me that babies do well when they are being cared for by loving family, but they always know their mom. Go ahead and enjoy the rest; they need you better quickly and you can look forward to seeing them when you get better.

I absolutely agree with the other posters, let your Mom take them for you so that you can rest up and get better. I know you will miss them but you will be much better with the rest. Hope you feel better soon

I know you miss them so much, but you are doing what's best for them right now. Rest, take care of yourself, so you can be back to taking care of them soon!

 Definitely. Take your time to get all better, that way you don't tire yourself out and get sicker.

I'm sure you are starting to feel better which is making it more difficult but I would let her keep them at least on more day. You will still tire out much more quickly so get as much rest as you can! Hope you feel better soon!
