Ok girls, I thought I've been doing pretty good with the twins so for. But, we seem to be having a major meltdown right now. Two sick screaming babies! Aaaahhhhhhh ;) Has anyone used benadryl with your little guys?

I am so right there with you! :hug99: Do your's have colds? Mine have been stuffy / coughing for the past week. I made an appointment for them on Monday as I feel like I'm giving them way too much tylenol / motrin cold stuff. does benadryl make a baby medicine? I didn't know. ALL of this is new to me - first time Mom - . Both mine screamed for quite some time last evening too. It can be overwhelming I know. Mine are teething too. Have you tried a humidifyer in their room? That seemed to help mine. And believe it or not - being outside seems to make them happy. I live in California so the weather here is nice - I'm not sure if that is an option for you - but it seems when they are their fussiest - out we go in the stroller and not a peep from them. Hope your babes get better soon. Maybe a YOU day is in need soon? You'll be amazed on how energizing those can be! :)

Well, nursing seems to have squelched the screaming kiddies, so far at least. This morning after nursing, it just came right back up onto me and both babies. <_< One is acting like he can't breathe very well holding his breath and bubbles out the nose and mouth. I first thought his reflux was just realy bad, but then I noticed it was mucus :bad: gross! I tried saline and aspirating, but it didn't help. Maybe I'll try a walk later, the fresh air may do us all some good. Although, my five year old seems pretty sick. I guess it's just a bad cold. Now.....gotta figure out how to keep my 7 yr old from getting it too. I guess schools not going to be happening after all today. :( Ahhh the joys of homeschooling. You girls are so sweet, and such a wonderful support!!!!

you should really ask your pedi first. My boys just got over being sick and the ONLY thing she said they could take (under 6 mos. of age) is infant tylenol - she also ok'd a little baby vicks, but wasn't thrilled to allow that. If they are congested, have you tried the nasal saline drops? They're non medicated so they are safe for really little ones too. and keep them propped up a bit; it helps with drainage. finally, you can try a steam bath, though we had no luck with that . . . good luck - i know how awful it is to have 2 sick and screaming babies!

My babies haven't had real colds yet but one day when James was stuffy for some reason I put him in the bouncy chair beside the shower while I took a long, hot one. It really helped.

I would talk to my pedi esp. if they are under 6 months. I always brought my babies in under that age even with a cold. With things like meningitis out there, you can never be too careful. :hug99: Hope they are better soon.

In my experience, the cold medicines don't do anything for babies. My ped doesn't recommend them under a year, unless it's an RX(Donatussin), which I didn't find helped all that much anyway. Saline, bulb syringe, and elevated heads. I hope they feel better soon. :hug99:

Thank-you so much for all the responses. Hubby was kind enough to call the Dr's office, since I had my hands full. They recommended pediacare congestion and cough. We've been doing the saline drops and aspiration(not helping). I guess they really don't want to see them unless it gets really bad. They trust my judgment (I guess).LOL This came on hard and fast, unusual for our family.

Don't you all just hate it when you precious little ones are sick?! This is one part of parenthood I could do without. Thanks again girls!
